Ottawa Fury FC
Ottawa Fury Football Club was a Canadian professional soccer club based in Ottawa, Ontario. The club competed in the North American Soccer League and USL Championship and played its home games at TD Place Stadium. The Ottawa Fury FC were dissolved as a soccer club on November 8, 2019 and their USL franchise rights were sold to Miami FC on December 11, 2019. An unrelated club, Atlético Ottawa, were formed in 2020 to enter the Canadian Premier League representing the city, with home games again at TD Place Stadium. History Formative years On June 20, 2011, the North American Soccer League announced that Ottawa had been awarded an expansion franchise. The team would join the league in 2014 once developments at Lansdowne Park were completed. In February 2013, the club ran a campaign to select a name and received over 4,000 submissions. Andrae Campbell (born 14 March 1989) is a Jamaican international footballer who plays as a defender. When he plays outdoors, Campbell primarily plays as a left-back. Career Campbell has played club football for Portmore United and Waterhouse. In 2012, Campbell signed with Notodden FK in Norway. Kyle Venter (born March 13, 1991) is an American retired professional soccer player who last played as a defender for the Richmond Kickers in USL League One. Giovanni Edson "Eddie" Edward (born September 20, 1988) is a former Canadian soccer player. Career Youth and college Edward's amateur and collegiate soccer career allowed him to travel across North America. After graduating from the Ottawa Fury's Youth program, Edward began his collegiate duties at the NAIA's Graceland University. In his four years at Graceland, he helped the Jackets to an overall 58–16–8 record while scoring 15 goals and adding 13 assists. In 2006, Edward was part of Graceland's NAIA National Championship-winning squad, while in 2007, he helped the team become Region V and Conference Champions. David Paulmin (born January 24, 1996) is a Canadian soccer goalkeeper who plays for Norwegian club Stjørdals-Blink.
