2017 Italian Open (pool)
The 2017 Dynamic Italian Open, was the first Euro Tour 9-Ball pool event in 2017. The event was won by Germany's Ralf Souquet who defeated Russia's Ruslan Chinachov 9–5 in the final. In winning the event, Souquet won his twenty-second Euro Tour event. Tournament format The event saw a total of 187 players compete, in a double-elimination knockout tournament, until the last 32 stage; where the tournament was contested as single elimination. Prize fund The tournament prize fund will be similar to that of other Euro Tour events, with € The euro sign () is the currency sign used for the euro, the official currency of the eurozone and unilaterally adopted by Kosovo and Montenegro. Nick Van Den Berg
Nick van den Berg (born 24 May 1980) is a Dutch professional pool player. He was the runner up at the 2005 WPA World Eight-ball Championship, where he lost to Wu Chia-ching 11–5 in the final. He is a multiple time winner of events on the Euro Tour, winning 10 tournaments between 2002 and 2017, the fourth highest in the history of the tour. A six-time winner of the European Pool Championships, Van den Berg has represented Europe at the Mosconi Cup on eight occasions, winning the event on six occasions as well as tying the event in 2006. Career Van den Berg's best performance in a world championship was in 2005, where he reached the final of the WPA World Eight-ball Championship. Alexander Kazakis (Born July 16, 1991) is a Greek professional pool player. Kazakis is a former European 10-ball champion, and regular 9-ball player. In 2018, he was the number one ranked player by the World Pool-Billiard Association. Career In 2016, Kazakis won the Kremlin Cup, without losing a game. Kazakis reached the semi-final of the 2018 WPA World Nine-ball Championship; before losing to eventual winner Joshua Filler on a final frame decider. Eklent Kaçi (born January 29, 1999), also known as Klenti Kaçi is an Albanian professional pool and amateur snooker player. Kaçi won the WPA World Ten-ball Championship in 2021 and 2023 and reached the semi-finals of the 2017 WPA World Nine-ball Championship. He has been the top-ranked played in the world of 9-ball pool. Career Kaçi started playing pool at the age of eight. Albin Alois Ouschan (born August 14, 1990, in Klagenfurt, Austria) is an Austrian pool and billiards player. Ouschan was the 2016 WPA World Nine-ball Championship winner, as well as the runner-up in 2014. He also won the 14.1 Continuous European championship the same year. Mika Immonen
Mika Immonen (born 17 December 1972) is a Finnish professional Hall of Fame pool player, nicknamed "The Iceman." Career Immonen won the 2001 WPA World Nine-ball Championship in Cardiff, Wales. That same year, he was the runner-up to Corey Deuel in the US Open Nine-ball Championship In 2002 he won the UPA International Ten-ball Championship. He has represented Team Europe on thirteen occasions in the Mosconi Cup, most recently in 2013.
