Mari Eder (née Laukkanen; born 9 November 1987) is a Finnish former biathlete and cross-country skier. Career Eder competed in the 2010 Winter Olympics for Finland. Her best performance was 43rd in the individual. She also finished 68th in the sprint. In February 2013, Eder's best performance in the Biathlon World Cup was 7th, as part of the mixed relay team at Kontiolahti in 2011/12. Her best overall finish in the Biathlon World Cup is 36th, in 2011/12. She scored her first World Cup podium finish with a third place in the first of two sprints at the Kontiolahti round of the 2013/14 season. Up to February 2017, her best performance at the Biathlon World Championships was fourth at Hochfilzen, in Austria, in 2017, in the women's individual competition over the normal distance. Tiril Kampenhaug Eckhoff (born 21 May 1990) is a Norwegian former biathlete. Eckhoff is a two-time Olympic champion, winning the mixed relay at the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics and 2022 Winter Olympics, and also won a bronze in the mass start, a feat she repeated at the 2018 Winter Olympics. Darya Uladzimirauna Domracheva ( be, Дар’я Уладзіміраўна Домрачэва; born 3 August 1986) is a retired Belarusian biathlete and coach who competed in the Biathlon World Cup from 2006 to 2018. She won a gold medal in the 4×6 km relay and a silver medal in the mass start competition at the 2018 Winter Olympics, three gold medals in the pursuit, individual, and mass start competitions at the 2014 Winter Olympics, and a bronze medal in the individual competition at the 2010 Winter Olympics. She was a Biathlon World Cup overall winner for the 2014–15 season. Career Domracheva started her sports career with cross-country skiing in 1992 but switched to biathlon in 1999. Biathlon World Championships 2017
The 49th Biathlon World Championships was held from 9 to 19 February 2017 in Hochfilzen, Austria. There were a total of 11 competitions: sprint, pursuit, individual, mass start, and relay races for men and women, and mixed relay. All the events during this championships also count for the Biathlon World Cup season. Host selection The second candidate city was Östersund, Sweden. Hochfilzen was selected as the host city on September 2 2012 during the X IBU Congress in Merano, Italy (27 to 20 votes).
