Lisa Vittozzi
Lisa Vittozzi (born 4 February 1995) is an Italian biathlete. She competes in the Biathlon World Cup, Vittozzi has won a bronze medal at the Biathlon World Championships 2015 in Kontiolahti (4 × 6 km relay). At the Pyeongchang 2018 Winter Olympics she won the bronze medal in the Mixed relay. Pieve Di Cadore
Pieve di Cadore is a ''comune'' (municipality) in the province of Belluno in the Italian region of Veneto, about north of Venice and about northeast of Belluno. "Pieve" means "Parish church". It is the birthplace of the Italian painter Titian. With its strategic location, the town was a medieval stronghold with fortifications, called the "walled city of the Veneto." The main sight is the ''Palazzo della Magnifica Comunità'' ("Palace of the Magnificent Community"), built in 1447 by the eponymous council which then ruled the city. The 2014–15 Biathlon World Cup is a multi-race tournament over a season of biathlon, organised by the International Biathlon Union. The season started on 30 November 2014 in Östersund, Sweden, and ended on 22 March 2015 in Khanty-Mansiysk, Russia. A new event, called the "Single mixed relay", made its World Cup debut on 6 February 2015 in Nové Město. Biathlon World Championships 2021
The Biathlon World Championships 2021 took place in Pokljuka, Slovenia, from 9 to 21 February 2021. Host selection On 4 September 2016, Tyumen won the voting (25 votes) during the 12th IBU Congress in Chisinau in Moldova over Pokljuka in Slovenia (13 votes) and Nové Město na Moravě in the Czech Republic (11 votes). Also Antholz-Anterselva, Italy, withdrew their bid for 2021 championships before the vote took place due to winning of an election for the host of the 2020 event. Just before the Biathlon World Championships 2017 in Hochfilzen, Austria, IBU forced Russia to give back rights due to the doping scandal, for revote process after 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, Republic of Korea. On 9 September 2018, during the IBU Congress, Pokljuka was named the 2021 event host city without alternative with 49–1 votes. The 49th Biathlon World Championships was held from 9 to 19 February 2017 in Hochfilzen, Austria. There were a total of 11 competitions: sprint, pursuit, individual, mass start, and relay races for men and women, and mixed relay. All the events during this championships also count for the Biathlon World Cup season. Host selection The second candidate city was Östersund, Sweden. Hochfilzen was selected as the host city on September 2 2012 during the X IBU Congress in Merano, Italy (27 to 20 votes). Biathlon World Championships 2016
The 48th Biathlon World Championships was held in Oslo, Norway from 3 to 13 March 2016. There were 11 competitions in total: sprint, pursuit, individual, mass start, relay races for men and women, and mixed relay. All the events during this championships also counted towards the Biathlon World Cup. Host selection Oslo was the sole candidate for this championship. Oslo was announced as the host city on 2 September 2012 during the X IBU Congress in Merano, Italy. Two years earlier Oslo lost Biathlon World Championships 2015 to Kontiolahti. This was the sixth time that these World Championships were held in Oslo; the city had previously hosted the event in 1986, 1990 (certain events held in Oslo due to difficult weather in the host city of Minsk), 1999 (certain events held in Oslo due to difficult weather in the host city of Kontiolahti), 2000 and 2002 (only the mass start as it was not on the program for the 2002 Olympics).
