Mari Laukkanen
Mari Eder (née Laukkanen; born 9 November 1987) is a Finnish former biathlete and cross-country skier. Career Eder competed in the 2010 Winter Olympics for Finland. Her best performance was 43rd in the individual. She also finished 68th in the sprint. In February 2013, Eder's best performance in the Biathlon World Cup was 7th, as part of the mixed relay team at Kontiolahti in 2011/12. Her best overall finish in the Biathlon World Cup is 36th, in 2011/12. She scored her first World Cup podium finish with a third place in the first of two sprints at the Kontiolahti round of the 2013/14 season. Up to February 2017, her best performance at the Biathlon World Championships was fourth at Hochfilzen, in Austria, in 2017, in the women's individual competition over the normal distance. Eno, Finland
Eno is a former municipality of Finland, now part of Joensuu. It is located in the province of Eastern Finland and is part of the North Karelia region. The municipality had a population of 6,764 (as of January 1, 2006) and covered an area of 1,088.25 km² of which 149.30 km² was water. The population density was 6.2 inhabitants per km². Eno railway station is the first station north of Joensuu on the railway between Joensuu and Nurmes. The municipality was unilingually Finnish. The name ''Eno'' comes from the Karelian word, which means the center of the river, where the water flows most strongly. The beaver of the coat of arms on the triple hill refers to Majoinvaara in Eno, and the ax carried on its shoulder symbolizes deforestation and forestry. Cross-country Skiing At The 2014 Winter Olympics – Women's Sprint
The women's freestyle sprint cross-country skiing competition in the free technique at the 2014 Sochi Olympics took place on 11 February at Laura Biathlon & Ski Complex. Qualification An athlete with a maximum of 100 FIS distance points (the A standard) will be allowed to compete in both or one of the event (sprint/distance). An athlete with a maximum 120 FIS sprint points will be allowed to compete in the sprint event and 10 km for women or 15 km for men provided their distance points do not exceed 300 FIS points. NOC's who do not have any athlete meeting the A standard can enter one competitor of each sex (known as the basic quota) in only 10 km classical event for women or 15 km classical event for men. FIS Cross-Country World Cup
The FIS Cross-Country World Cup is an annual cross-country skiing competition, arranged by the International Ski Federation (FIS) since 1981. The competition was arranged unofficially between 1973 and 1981, although it received provisional recognition on the 31st FIS Congress, 29–30 April 1977 in Bariloche, Argentina. The first World Cup races were held on 9 January 1982 and were located in Reit im Winkl, West Germany and Klingenthal, East Germany. Bill Koch of the United States and Berit Aunli of Norway were the overall winners in the first season. Rules Competitors attempt to achieve the most points during the season. Hinterzarten is a resort village in the Black Forest (German: ''Schwarzwald''), located in the southwest of the state of Baden-Württemberg, Germany. Praz de Lys - Sommand is a twinned ski resort starting at a high altitude and composed of Sommand resort and Praz de Lys resort both linked by ski trails and chair lifts over and around their dividing mountains. Sommand sits high above its village of Mieussy and Praz de Lys sits above Taninges. The ski resort of Les Gets is also nearby Praz de Lys, about 15 minutes drive. It was opened in approximately 1978. Holmenkollen () is a mountain and a neighbourhood in the Vestre Aker borough of Oslo, Norway. It goes up to above sea level and is well-known for its international skiing competitions. Overview In addition to being a residential area, the area has been a ski recreation area since the late 19th century, with its famous ski jumping hill, the Holmenkollbakken, hosting competitions since 1892.
