Carina Jaarnek
Carina Jaarnek (full name Eva Carina Kvistborg Jaarnek; 26 December 196217 January 2016; birth name Kina Jaarnek), was a Swedish singer. During her career she performed in a number of dansbands, and she participated in Melodifestivalen twice. Career During the 1970s, Jaarnek was part of the dansband Frösöflickorna, and during the 1980s in the dansbands Bosse Påhlssons orkester (orchestra) and Alfstarz. After this, she started her own band called Carina Jaarneks orkester. Jaarnek has been referred to as "The dansband queen of Sweden". Jaarnek's first appearance on the ''Svensktoppen'' charts came in 1986 with the song "Natten tänder ljus på himlen". She performed the song "Det är aldrig försent" at Melodifestivalen 1994 with her younger brother Mikael Jaarnek, and she participated in Melodifestivalen 2002 with the song "Son of a Liar", which made it to the second chance round. Sigge Parling
Sigvard Emanuel "Sigge" Parling (26 March 1930 – 17 September 2016) was a Swedish football player. He also played ice hockey and bandy. During his career he played for Djurgårdens IF (1949–1960), IK Sirius (1960–1963) and Gefle IF (1963–1965). His position was left midfielder and was considered a very rough but fair player. During his time in Djurgården he was known as the first '' Järnkamin'' (Iron Stove). Parling was capped 195 times for Djurgården and scored 12 goals. He won the Swedish Championship twice with Djurgårdens IF, 1955 and 1959. Parling was part of the legendary Swedish national team at the 1958 FIFA World Cup and was capped 37 times for his country. Parling is the only player from Djurgårdens IF who has played a World Cup Final. He died on 17 September 2016 at the age of 86. Thorbjörn Fälldin
Nils Olof Thorbjörn Fälldin (24 April 1926 – 23 July 2016) was a Swedish politician. He was Prime Minister of Sweden in three non-consecutive cabinets from 1976 to 1982, and leader of the Swedish Centre Party from 1971 to 1985. On his first appointment in 1976, he was the first non-Social Democrat Prime Minister for 40 years and the first since the 1930s not to have worked as a professional politician since his teens. He was also the last Prime Minister to not be from the Social Democrats or Moderate Party. Early life Fälldin was born in Högsjö parish, Ångermanland, the son of the farmer Nils Johan Fälldin and his wife Hulda (née Olsson). He grew up in a farming family in Ångermanland, and, in 1956, he and his wife, as a newlywed young couple, took over a small farm. Martin Lundström
Martin Lundström (30 May 1918 – 30 June 2016) was a Swedish cross-country skier who competed in the late 1940s and early 1950s. He was born in Tvärliden, Norsjö Municipality. Lundström won two Olympic gold medals during the 1948 Winter Olympics in Saint-Moritz, Switzerland at the 18 km and 4 × 10 km relay events. He also won a bronze medal in the 4 × 10 km relay at the 1952 Winter Olympics. Lundström also won at the 18 km event at the Holmenkollen ski festival in 1948. Monica Emma Josefin Nilsson, registered as ''Monica Emma Josefina Nilsson'' (22 March 1969 – 29 February 2016) was a Swedish singer and actress. She founded the Ainbusk group with her sister Marie Nilsson and two friends Annelie Roswall and Birgitta "Bittis" Jakobsson. In 1992, she received the Ulla Billquist scholarship, an award that encourages young artists. Bodil Malmsten (19 August 1944 – 5 February 2016) was a Swedish poet and novelist. Malmsten was born in Bjärme, Östersund Municipality. Due to her parents' early separation, she grew up at her maternal grandparents and at foster care in Vällingby, Stockholm. Her paternal grandfather was designer and architect Carl Malmsten. She debuted as author in 1970 together with Peter Csihas (1945–2011) with their children's book ''Ludvig åker''. Csihas and Malmsten had a relationship during the 1960s and 70s and have a daughter, Stefania, born 1967, who is designer and actor.
