2014–15 Basketball League Belgium Division I
The 2014–15 Basketball League Belgium Division I, known as the 2014–15 Scooore! League for sponsorship reasons, was the 88th season of the Basketball League Belgium. This season started with 11 clubs, including newly formed team Limburg United. Telenet Oostende was the defending champion. The 2014–15 season marked the first season of the league without the name Ethias League, after Ethias stopped their sponsoring activities. Format Because a new team was added in Limburg United, a new competition format was introduced. The regular season now contained two rounds: in the first round all teams would play 2 matches against each other (one at home, one away). After 20 played games the league will be divided in two groups: the first group contains the teams seeded 1–6 and the second group 7–11. Liège Basket is a Belgian professional basketball club from Liège. The club competes in the BNXT League. Founded in 1967, the team plays at 5,600 seat Country Hall Ethias Liège. History The club was founded in Fléron as the Fléron Basket Club in 1967. After being an amateur league for its first years, the team hired its first professional coach in 1975. In 1977 and 1981, the Fléron promoted to the first regional league. In 1983, the club made its debut on the national level as it promoted to the Fourth National Division. In 2000, the club decided to merge with BC Hannut and Essor Hannut, relocating to the city of Liège. After the move to Lìege, the club quickly promoted to the First National League. Willebroek
Willebroek (, old spelling: ''Willebroeck'') is a municipality located in the Belgian province of Antwerp. The municipality comprises the towns of , Heindonk, , Klein Willebroek, and Willebroek proper. In 2021, Willebroek had a total population of 27,081. The total area is 27.41 km². Willebroek is linked to Brussels by the Willebroek Canal. Mons
Mons (; German and nl, Bergen, ; Walloon and pcd, Mont) is a city and municipality of Wallonia, and the capital of the province of Hainaut, Belgium. Mons was made into a fortified city by Count Baldwin IV of Hainaut in the 12th century. The population grew quickly, trade flourished, and several commercial buildings were erected near the ''Grand’Place''. In 1814, King William I of the Netherlands increased the fortifications, following the fall of the First French Empire. The Industrial Revolution and coal mining made Mons a centre of heavy industry. In 1830, Belgium gained its independence and the decision was made to dismantle the fortifications, allowing the creation of large boulevards and other urban projects. Brussels Basketball, for sponsorship reasons known as Circus Brussels Basketball, is a professional basketball club based in Brussels, Belgium. The team plays in the BNXT League. Home games are played at the Sports Complex Neder-Over-Heembeek. Founded as Excelsior Brussels in 1957, the team plays in the Neder-Over-Heembeek complex. History The club was founded in 1957. In 1999 Excelsior merged with AERA Castor and renamed itself AERA Excelsior Brussel VZW. After 7 years in the 3e Nationale, the Belgian third division, Excelsior promoted to the 2e Nationale in 2009. In the first two years, Excelsior finished 4th and 5th and was defeated in the quarterfinals. In the 2011–12 season Excelsior reached the semifinals and in the 2012–13 season, it finished 10th while missing the Playoffs.
