2014 Peruvian Segunda División
The 2014 Segunda División season, was the 69th edition of the second tier of Federación Peruana de Futbol. The tournament was played on a home-and-away round-robin basis. Teams Promotion and relegation (pre-season) A total of 16 teams played in the league, 2 more from the previous season. They include 10 sides from the 2013 season, four from the 2013 Copa Perú, and two relegated from the 2013 Torneo Descentralizado. Pacífico and José Gálvez were relegated from the 2013 Torneo Descentralizado. Pacífico made an immediately return to the Segunda División after being promoted the previous year. José Gálvez was relegated for the sixth time after a brief two-year tenure in the top division thus becoming the Peruvian side with the most promotions and relegations in history. Los Caimanes was promoted to the Torneo Descentralizado as the champion. Peruvian Segunda División
The Liga 2 (Ligue 2) of Peru is the second-highest division in the Peruvian football league system. It is a professional and promotional division organized by the Peruvian Football Federation. After years of changing numbers of clubs, as of 2021 the league includes 12 clubs. History The format of the Second Division has changed over the years. For decades after it was first formed in 1936, only clubs from the Lima Region, Department of Lima participated in the annual tournament. Los Caimanes
Los Caimanes is a Peruvian football club, playing in the city of Puerto Etén, Chiclayo, Lambayeque. History The club was founded on the May 22, 1957 under the name of Club Cultural y Deportivo Los Caimanes de Puerto Etén in the city of Puerto Etén, Chiclayo, Lambayeque. In the 2011 Copa Perú, the club classified to the National Stage, but was eliminated by Pacífico in the semi-finals. Huánuco
Huánuco (; qu, Wanuku) is a city in central Peru. It had a population of 196,627 as of 2017 and in 2015 it had a population of 175,068. Alianza Universidad
Alianza Universidad is a Peruvian association football club, playing in the city of Huánuco. History The club was founded as Alianza Huánuco on January 1, 1939. The club have played at the highest level of Peruvian football on one occasion, in the 1991 Torneo Descentralizado, but was relegated to the 1992 Torneo Zonal. In the 2011 Copa Perú, the club classified to the National Stage, but was eliminated by Real Garcilaso in the semifinals. It was invited to play in the 2012 Peruvian Segunda Division. Alianza Universidad played in the Segunda División tournament five seasons from 2012 until 2016. After not much success with gaining promotion the team decided to retire from the tournament and return to the Copa Perú system in 2017 where it will play from the Departamental Stage. Puno
Puno (Aymara and qu, Punu) is a city in southeastern Peru, located on the shore of Lake Titicaca. Club Unión Huaral is a Peruvian football club, from the city of Huaral. It was founded in 1947 and plays in Peru's Segunda División. History The club was the 1976 and 1989 Peruvian Primera División champion. They were the first club to take the Peruvian title out of the traditional strongholds of Lima and Callao provinces. Club Atlético Minero is a Peruvian football club based in Matucana, located in the Department of Lima. It was founded in 1997 and was promoted to the Primera División Peruana in 2008 where it played for one season. It has played in the Peruvian Segunda Division ever since.
