2014 National Hurling League
The 2014 National Hurling League was the 83rd staging of the National Hurling League. The league began on 15 February. The divisional stage of the competition finished on 23 March. In the final played on 4 May at Semple Stadium, Kilkenny defeated Tipperary by 2-25 1-27 with TJ Reid getting the winning point in the last minute of extra-time. Lester Ryan (hurler Born 1988)
Lester Ryan (born 1 May 1988) is an Irish hurler who plays as a midfielder for the Kilkenny senior team. Born in Clara, County Kilkenny, Ryan first arrived on the inter-county scene when he first linked up with the Kilkenny under-21 team, before later joining the intermediate side. He joined the senior panel for the 2011 championship. Ryan has since become a regular member of the team and has won four All-Ireland medals, four Leinster medals and four National Hurling League medals. He captained the team to the All-Ireland title in 2014. He has also captained Kilkenny to Leinster (2014 and 2016) and National Hurling League (2014) successes. Henry Shefflin
Henry Shefflin (born 11 January 1979) is an Irish hurling manager and former player who is the current manager of the Galway senior hurling team. In his playing career he was nicknamed "King Henry" because of his directive style, dominance, competitive spirit and leadership on the field. A versatile forward who started out in the corner, Shefflin made his name in more commanding positions as a centre or full-forward. He is widely regarded to be one of the greatest players in the history of the sport, with many former players, commentators and fans rating him as the number one player of all time. Colin Fennelly
Colin Fennelly (born 25 August 1989) is an Irish hurler who plays as a forward for Kilkenny Senior Championship club Ballyhale Shamrocks. He is a former captain of the Kilkenny senior hurling team. Fennelly first appeared on the inter-county scene with the Kilkenny minor and under-21 teams, before establishing himself on the Kilkenny senior team, going on to make a combined total of 88 league and championship appearances across ten seasons. Alan McCrabbe
Alan McCrabbe (born 29 April 1986 in Dublin) is an Irish sportsperson. He plays hurling with his local club Craobh Chiaráin and has been a member of the Dublin senior inter-county team since 2006. Playing career Club McCrabbe plays his club hurling with his local club Craobh Chiaráin and has enjoyed some success. In 2006 he lined out in his first county senior championship final, with Ballyboden St. Enda's providing the opposition. A narrow 2-10 to 2-8 score line gave Craobh Chiaráin the victory and gave McCrabbe a county winners' medal. Craobh Chiaráin subsequently represented Dublin in the Leinster club series of games. Colin Ryan (Clare Hurler)
Colin Ryan (born 2 September 1988) is an Irish hurler. His league and championship career with the Clare senior team lasted ten years from 2007 to 2017. Born in Newmarket-on-Fergus, County Clare, Ryan first played competitive hurling during his schooling at St. Flannan's College. Here he won an All-Ireland medal in 2005, as well as back-to-back Harty Cup medals. Ryan simultaneously began his club career at juvenile and underage levels with Newmarket-on-Fergus. Conor Cooney (born 22 October 1992) is an Irish hurler who plays for Galway Senior Championship club St Thomas's and at inter-county level with the Galway senior hurling team. He usually lines out as a full-forward. Playing career Gort Community School Cooney first came to prominence as a hurler with Gort Community School. Pauric Mahony
Pauric Mahony (born 11 May 1992) is an Irish hurler who plays for Waterford Senior Championship club Ballygunner and was previously the captain of the Waterford senior hurling team before announcing his retirement from inter-county hurling in 2023. Parnell Park
Parnell Park is a GAA stadium in Donnycarney, Dublin, Ireland with a capacity of 8,500. It is the home of the Dublin GAA hurling, football, camogie and ladies' football teams at all levels of competition. The ground is used by Dublin's inter-county teams mainly during home National Hurling League & All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship games and as a training ground, with most National Football League and All-Ireland Senior Football Championship games played in Croke Park.
