The 2013 PGA Tour of Australasia was a series of men's professional golf events played mainly in Australia. The main tournaments on the PGA Tour of Australasia were played in the southern summer so they were split between the first and last months of the year. Adam Scott (golfer)
Adam Derek Scott (born 16 July 1980) is an Australian professional golfer who plays mainly on the PGA Tour. He was the World No. 1 ranked golfer, from mid-May to August 2014. He has won 31 professional tournaments around the world (3 being unofficial money events), on many of golf's major tours. Scott's biggest win to date was the 2013 Masters Tournament, his only major championship and the only Masters won by an Australian. Other significant wins include the 2004 Players Championship, the 2011 WGC-Bridgestone Invitational and the 2016 WGC-Cadillac Championship. The New Zealand PGA Championship is a golf tournament on the PGA Tour of Australasia. It is currently known for sponsorship reasons as the SEC NZ PGA Championship. History The tournament been played since 1909, with some gap periods. It was originally a match play event and switched to stroke play in 1965. Major championship winners who have claimed the New Zealand PGA title include Sir Bob Charles, Peter Thomson, Kel Nagle, and Tony Jacklin. Australian PGA Championship
The Australian PGA Championship is a golf tournament on the PGA Tour of Australasia. It is the home tournament of the Australian PGA. Since 2000 it has been held in the South East Queensland region. The tournament was part of the OneAsia Tour from 2009 to 2014, and from 2015 to 2019 it was co-sanctioned with the European Tour. The championship started in 1929, when the Australian Golf Union decided to hold the Australian Professional Championship during their annual championship meeting. The leading 16 professionals in the Open championship qualified for the match play event, with four rounds of matches over 36 holes. The winner, Rufus Stewart, received the ''Joe Kirkwood Cup'', donated by Australian golfer Joe Kirkwood Sr. After World War II the PGA of Australia took over the organisation of the championship. The 2013 European Tour was the fifth edition of the Race to Dubai and the 42nd season of golf tournaments since the European Tour officially began in 1972. Jeong Yeon-jin ( ko, 정연진; born 2 February 1990), better known as Jin Jeong, is a South Korean professional golfer. Jeong was born in Busan and moved to Melbourne, Australia in 2006. He has enjoyed a highly successful amateur career. In 2010 he had two spells as the number one ranked amateur golfer on the back of four wins including The Amateur Championship, the first Asian to win that championship, and finishing as low amateur in a tie for 14th place in The Open Championship. ISPS Handa Perth International
The World Super 6 Perth is a golf tournament that was played for the first time in October 2012 as the ISPS Handa Perth International. It is played at Lake Karrinyup Country Club in Perth, Western Australia. It is co-sanctioned by the European Tour and the PGA Tour of Australasia. From 2016 it has also been co-sanctioned by the Asian Tour. It is one of the richest golf tournaments in Australia, with a A$1.6 million purse. Josh Geary
Josh Geary (born 11 December 1984) is a New Zealand professional golfer who plays on the Challenge Tour. Professional career Geary turned professional in 2007 and played primarily on the Canadian Tour until 2010. He won the Saskatchewan Open in 2008 and was runner-up in the 2010 The Economical Insurance Group Seaforth Country Classic behind Kent Eger. He was also a runner-up in the 2009 New Zealand PGA Championship and 4th in the New Zealand Open the following week, events co-sanctioned with the Nationwide Tour. The Western Australian Open, also known as the WA Open, is a golf tournament on the PGA Tour of Australasia. It had been a tour event every year since 2009 with the exception of 2019. History The first Western Australian Amateur Championship was held in 1911. This consisted of a 36-hole stroke-play qualification stage, played in a single day, followed by match-play to determine the champion. The leading four players in the stroke-play qualified in 1911, increasing to 8 in 1912. In 1913 the stroke-play stage was opened up to professionals, becoming the first Western Australian Open Championship. It was played at the Fremantle links on 28 August, nearly 30 players competing. Andre Stolz
Andre Pierre Stolz (born 10 May 1970) is an Australian professional golfer. Early life and professional career Stolz was born in Brisbane, Australia. He turned professional in 1992. He has played on the PGA Tour of Australasia, Japan Golf Tour (2001), Nationwide Tour (2003), and PGA Tour (2004–05). In 2003, he won the LaSalle Bank Open on the Nationwide Tour and finished 13th on the money list, earning his PGA Tour card for 2004. On the PGA Tour, he won the 2004 Michelin Championship at Las Vegas with a stroke victory over Tag Ridings, securing his card through 2006. However, an injury to his left wrist in 2005 halted his career. After taking three years off, Stolz went back to playing, competing in his native Australia, Asia, and the Nationwide Tour. The South Pacific Open Championship was a golf tournament held at Tina Golf Club, Nouméa, New Caledonia from 2011 to 2016. It was a Tier 2 event on the Australasian Tour.
