Andre Stolz
Andre Pierre Stolz (born 10 May 1970) is an Australian professional golfer. Early life and professional career Stolz was born in Brisbane, Australia. He turned professional in 1992. He has played on the PGA Tour of Australasia, Japan Golf Tour (2001), Nationwide Tour (2003), and PGA Tour (2004–05). In 2003, he won the LaSalle Bank Open on the Nationwide Tour and finished 13th on the money list, earning his PGA Tour card for 2004. On the PGA Tour, he won the 2004 Michelin Championship at Las Vegas with a stroke victory over Tag Ridings, securing his card through 2006. However, an injury to his left wrist in 2005 halted his career. After taking three years off, Stolz went back to playing, competing in his native Australia, Asia, and the Nationwide Tour. In 2011, he led the OneAsia Tour's Order of Merit with two wins. Stolz also played two events on the PGA Tour, his first on the tour since 2005. ANZ Victorian Open Championship
The Vic Open is an annual golf tournament held in Australia. It was founded in 1957 and is the Victoria state open championship for men. It is run by Golf Victoria and is a Golf Australia national ranking event. The event is held concurrently with the Women's Victorian Open and offers equal prize pool for the two events. The tournament's tag line is: "Men and women. On the same course. At the same time. For equal prize money." The men and women play on the same course at the same time in alternating groups. History The first Victorian Open was played at Riversdale in 1957, replacing the Victorian Close Championship which had been first held in 1948. Paul Sheehan (golfer)
Paul Sheehan (born 26 January 1977) is an Australian professional golfer. Sheehan plays mainly on the PGA Tour of Australasia and the Japan Golf Tour. He has featured in the top 100 of the Official World Golf Ranking. He has three wins in Japan, including the 2006 Japan Open Golf Championship, Japan Open, and one win in Australia. He has also played on the PGA Tour. He lives in Melbourne and plays at the Victoria Golf Club as a member. Sheehan finished 20th on the Nationwide Tour money list in 2006, giving him his first start on the PGA Tour. As a child, Sheehan was a junior tennis champion, then took up golf at age 13 and at 16 broke par. The Queensland PGA Championship is a golf tournament on the PGA Tour of Australasia. The tournament is currently held at Nudgee Golf Club in Nudgee. History The event was founded as the Queensland Professional Championship in 1926. The inaugural championship was played at Brisbane Golf Club in late November with 12 professionals competing. There was a 36-hole stroke-play stage with the leading 4 qualifying for the match-play. The 36-hole semi-finals were played the following day with the 36-hole final on the third day. Arthur Spence, the Royal Queensland professional, beat Jack Quarton, the Toowoomba professional, in the final. In 1927 the number of qualifiers was increased to 8, with the quarter and semi-finals played over 18 holes on the second day. The 2002 PGA Tour of Australasia was a series of men's professional golf events played in Australia and New Zealand. In 2002, the PGA Tour of Australasia reverted to a calendar based schedule from a seasonal one. As such, tournaments ran from November 2001 through to December 2002, with two editions of both the Australian PGA Championship and the Australian Open. Brett Michael Rumford (born 27 July 1977) is an Australian professional golfer who plays on the European Tour, having formerly been a member on both the PGA Tour and PGA Tour of Australasia.
