2012–13 Canada Women's National Ice Hockey Team
The 2012–13 women's national hockey ice team represented Canada in various tournaments during the season. The team will attempt to win the gold medal at the Women's World Championships in Ottawa, Ontario. The head coach of the National team is York Lions women's ice hockey coach Dan Church. News and notes National team 2013 IIHF Worlds *Canada enters the 2013 IIHF Women's World Championship as the defending champion. The tournament shall serve as qualification for the 2015 competition. Megan Bozek
Megan Bozek (born March 27, 1991) is an American ice hockey player and member of the United States national team. She most recently played with the KRS Vanke Rays of the Zhenskaya Hockey League (ZhHL) during the 2020–21 season. Bozek played her collegiate career with the Minnesota Golden Gophers women's ice hockey program. She was selected second overall by the Toronto Furies in the 2014 CWHL Draft and, over her career, has played in the Canadian Women's Hockey League (CWHL), National Women's Hockey League (NWHL), and the Zhenskaya Hockey League (ZhHL). Laura Stacey
Laura Rachel Stacey (born May 5, 1994) is a Canadian ice hockey player, currently affiliated with the Montreal chapter of the Professional Women's Hockey Players Association (PWHPA) and a member of the Canadian women's national ice hockey team. She previously played with the Markham Thunder and the Dartmouth Big Green and competed internationally with the Canadian women's national under-18 and under-22 teams. Laura Fortino
Laura Michele Fortino (born January 30, 1991) is a Canadian ice hockey player for Markham Thunder. On October 3, 2011, she was named to the Team Canada roster that participated in the 2011 4 Nations Cup. Of note, she was the first overall selection in the 2014 CWHL Draft. Playing career In 2004, Fortino played for the Hamilton Reps (Bantam AA Boys) and she won a silver medal at the Ontario provincials, with honourable mention going to her AA defence partner Kyle Rooney. Erin Ambrose
Erin Ambrose (born April 30, 1994) is a Canadian women's ice hockey player with the PWHPA and the Canada women's national ice hockey team. She made her debut with the Canada women's national ice hockey team at the 2014 4 Nations Cup. Playing career At the age of 11, Ambrose moved from AA to AAA boys hockey, and in her second season, she was named team captain. She began to play women's ice hockey as a 14-year-old in 2008. Brigette Lacquette
Brigette Lacquette (born November 10, 1992) is a Canadian ice hockey player, currently playing for the Calgary section of the PWHPA and the Canadian national team, playing defence. She participated at the 2015 IIHF Women's World Championship. In the autumn of 2015, Lacquette joined the Calgary Inferno of the CWHL. In 2018, Lacquette became the first First Nations woman to play for the Canadian women's Olympic hockey team. To honour her accomplishment, Lacquette's Olympic hockey stick was included in the diversity exhibit in the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2018. Along with Sarah Nurse and Hanna Bunton, Lacquette joined them on the cover (dated June 2021) of Elle Canada. Cassandra Poudrier (born December 5, 1992) is an ice hockey player who currently plays in the CWHL for Les Canadiennes de Montreal. On October 3, 2011, she was named to the Team Canada roster that will participate in the 2011 4 Nations Cup. Sarah Edney
Sarah Edney was selected first overall by the Brampton Thunder in the 2015 CWHL Draft. She made her debut with the Canada women's national ice hockey team at the 2015 4 Nations Cup in Sundsvall, Sweden. Playing career Edney played high school hockey at Our Lady of Mount Carmel in Mississauga, Ontario. While a student there, she also competed in softball and track and field. Emerance Maschmeyer
Emerance Maschmeyer (born October 5, 1994) is a Canadian ice hockey goaltender for Team Bauer, playing from the Montréal hub of the PWHPA. She is a member of Canada women's national ice hockey team (Team Canada), with whom she won the 2021 IIHF Women's World Championship and the 2022 Winter Olympics gold medal. She first made her debut with Team Canada at the 2014 4 Nations Cup. Playing career Maschmeyer was the second female goalie to compete in the Brick Tournament in Edmonton. Blaine, Minnesota
Blaine is a suburban city in Anoka and Ramsey counties in the State of Minnesota, United States. Once a rural town, Blaine's population has increased significantly in the last 60 years. For several years, Blaine led the Twin Cities metro region in new home construction. The population was 70,222 at the 2020 census.
