Laura Stacey
Laura Rachel Stacey (born May 5, 1994) is a Canadian ice hockey player, currently affiliated with the Montreal chapter of the Professional Women's Hockey Players Association (PWHPA) and a member of the Canadian women's national ice hockey team. She previously played with the Markham Thunder and the Dartmouth Big Green and competed internationally with the Canadian women's national under-18 and under-22 teams. She won a silver medal with Team Canada at the 2018 Winter Olympics and a gold medal at the 2022 Winter Olympics. Playing career She represented Team Ontario at the 2011 Canada Winter Games. During the 2011–12 Canada women's national ice hockey team season, she was a member of the Canadian National Under 18 team that participated in a three-game series vs. the US in August 2011. IIHF World Women's U18 Championships
The IIHF Women's World U18 Championship, officially the IIHF Ice Hockey U18 Women's World Championship, is an annual ice hockey tournament for national women's under-18 (U18) ice hockey teams, administrated by the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF). It is the junior edition of the IIHF Women's World Championship and participation is limited to female ice hockey players under 18 years of age. Laura Fortino
Laura Michele Fortino (born January 30, 1991) is a Canadian ice hockey player for Markham Thunder. On October 3, 2011, she was named to the Team Canada roster that participated in the 2011 4 Nations Cup. Of note, she was the first overall selection in the 2014 CWHL Draft. Playing career In 2004, Fortino played for the Hamilton Reps (Bantam AA Boys) and she won a silver medal at the Ontario provincials, with honourable mention going to her AA defence partner Kyle Rooney. As a member of Stoney Creek, she won a bronze medal at the 2007 PWHL championships. At the 2007 National Women's Under-18 Championships in Kitchener, Ontario, she won a gold medal with Ontario Red. 3rd CWHL All-Star Game
The 3rd Canadian Women's Hockey League All-Star Game took place on February 12, 2017, at Air Canada Centre in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The event featured three 20-minute periods, and 34 players were named as participants Jess Jones and Jillian Saulnier both scored a hat trick, becoming the first competitors in CWHL All-Star Game history to achieve the feat. 2016 CWHL Draft
The 2016 draft for the Canadian Women's Hockey League took place on August 21, 2016. Players must register before midnight on August 1, 2016 and pay an entry fee of CDN $150. By virtue of finishing with the worst record during the 2015-16 CWHL regular season, the Boston Blades selected first overall. Of note, it signified the first time that the Blades ever held the first pick overall in the history of the CWHL Draft. Following the Blades with the second pick overall shall be the Toronto Furies. 2011 Canadian National Women's Under-18 Championships
The 2011 Canadian National Women's Under-18 Championships in ice hockey were held in Saguenay, Quebec. All games were contested at the Centre Georges-Vézina. Team Ontario Red claimed their sixth gold medal. Team Manitoba claimed their third bronze medal in tournament history.
