2011–12 Cal State Bakersfield Roadrunners Men's Basketball Team
The 2011–12 Cal State Bakersfield Roadrunners men's basketball team represented California State University, Bakersfield during the 2011–12 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Roadrunners, led by first year head coach Rod Barnes, played their home games at the Icardo Center, with two home games at Rabobank Arena, and played as an independent. The Roadrunners were invited to the 2012 CollegeInsider Tournament for the programs first ever post season appearance since joining Division I. They lost in the first round to Utah State. Rod Barnes
Rodrick Kenneth Barnes (born January 8, 1966) is an American college basketball coach. He is the head men's basketball coach a California State University, Bakersfield, a position he has held since 2011. Barnes held the same position at the University of Mississippi (Ole Miss) from 1998 to 2006 and Georgia State University from 2007 to 2011. Playing and early coaching career Barnes played college basketball at the University of Mississippi of the NCAA Division I's Southeastern Conference from 1985 to 1988. He earned All-SEC and All-America honorable mention honors in 1988. Barnes earned his business administration degree in 1989 and left Ole Miss to become an assistant coach at Livingston University in 1990. In 1993, Barnes returned to Ole Miss to serve as an assistant coach to Rob Evans. Gill Coliseum
Gill Coliseum is a multi-purpose indoor arena in the northwest United States, located on the campus of Oregon State University in Opened the arena has a seating capacity of 9,604 and is home to the Oregon State Beavers' basketball, wrestling, volleyball, and gymnastics teams. It is named after Amory T. "Slats" Gill, the Beavers' basketball coach for 36 seasons (from 1928 to 1964), who compiled a record. The 2011–12 Oregon State Beavers men's basketball team represented Oregon State University in the 2011–12 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. Head coach Craig Robinson was in his fourth year with the team. The Beavers played their home games at Gill Coliseum in Corvallis, Oregon and are a member of the Pac-12 Conference. They finished with record of 21–15 overall, 7–11 in Pac-12 play. They lost in the semifinals of the Pac-12 Basketball tournament to Arizona.
