2010 Formula Renault BARC Season
The Protyre 2010 Formula Renault BARC season was the 16th Formula Renault BARC Championship. The season began at Brands Hatch on 18 April and ended on 17 October at Thruxton, after twelve rounds held in England. Making its debut in the series was the previous-specification Formula Renault UK car which ran alongside the existing BARC car in a one-class Championship. Hillspeed driver Alice Powell became the first female driver to win any Formula Renault championship after overhauling a 16-point deficit to rival Mitchell Hale of Fortec Motorsport at the season's final meeting at Thruxton. Powell won two races at Silverstone and Thruxton with five second places compared to Hale's three victories at Brands Hatch, Silverstone and Snetterton. British Formula Renault Championship
British Formula Renault Championship referred to one of two Formula Renault championships that were held in the United Kingdom. The main series was Renault Sport, Renault Sport UK's Formula Renault Eurocup, Formula Renault 2.0 UK championship which was held from 1989 to 2011 and was generally recognized as the British Formula Renault championship. However, in March 2012 it was announced that the Formula Renault UK series would not take place in 2012, with the series being ended definitively in September 2012. A secondary championship organised by the British Automobile Racing Club and known as the Protyre Formula Renault Championship was held continuously between 1995 and 2014. Kourosh Khani (born 3 July 1989) is an Iranian racing driver. Biography Kourosh dominated numerous karting championships in his home country before moving to the UK in 2006. In 2007, Kourosh entered the British Formula Ford Championship. In 2012, Khani graduated to the FIA Formula Two Championship, competing in four rounds and scoring two points. British Automobile Racing Club
The British Automobile Racing Club (BARC) is one of the biggest organising clubs for auto racing in the United Kingdom. History The Cyclecar Club was formed in 1912, running races for the small and light motorbike powered vehicles at Brooklands as well as rallies and sporting trials. Among the founder members of the club were H.R. Godfrey and Archie Frazer-Nash. In 1919, with cyclecars on the decline, the name of the club changed to the Junior Car Club (JCC). Hillspeed
Hillspeed is a motor racing team based in the United Kingdom. They currently participate in the GB3 Championship and the GB4 Championship. The team was founded in 1970 in order to run the British Saloon Car Championship entry of Morgan Ollerenshaw. In subsequent years, the team focused primarily on single-seater racing. Later, the company would also be involved in high performance road cars. In recent years, Hillspeed have been one of the most successful teams in breaking new talent in junior racing series, winning the 2010 Formula Renault BARC season with Alice Powell as well as back-to-back Ginetta Junior championships with Tom Ingram in 2010 and Seb Morris in 2011. Dino Zamparelli
Dino Zamparelli (born 5 October 1992) is a British racing driver, born to English parents and with Italian ancestry. His father Mike was a F1 Powerboat World Championship racer. Career Early career Zamparelli began karting at the age of seven, and spent seven years in the various classes around the United Kingdom and Europe. In 2007 he debuted in Ginetta Junior Championship with Muzz Racing, finishing in thirteenth position. He stayed in series for the next year, and amassed ten wins and another five podiums on his way to the championship title. Formula Renault and Formula Three Zamparelli's next step was Formula Renault BARC in 2009, where he finished in third place, scoring three wins. Triple 8 Race Engineering
Triple Eight Racing was a motorsports team formed in 1996 as Triple Eight Race Engineering, which competed in the British Touring Car Championship and the British GT Championship. The team's original focus was to design, build and race Vauxhalls on behalf of the General Motors brand in the British Touring Car Championship (BTCC). A close working alliance developed during a decade of success and Triple Eight became Vauxhall's technical partner for motorsport.
