2009–10 Umaglesi Liga
The 2009–10 Umaglesi Liga was the 21st season of top-tier football in Georgia. It began on August 1, 2009, and ended on May 20, 2010. FC Olimpi Rustavi won the championship. Changes from 2008–09 Structural changes League size was reduced from 11 to 10 teams prior to this season. Promotion and relegation Borjomi were relegated to Pirveli Liga at the end of the season after finishing in 11th and last place. Other teams which will not participate in this year's championship are Mglebi and Meshketi, both due to unknown reasons. This means that originally relegated teams Gagra and Spartaki Tskhinvali will stay another season in Umaglesi Liga. Promoted to Georgia's top football division were Pirveli Liga 2008–09 Western group champions Samtredia and runners-up Baia. Western group champions Ameri were not promoted due to unknown reasons. Erovnuli Liga
The Erovnuli Liga ( ka, ეროვნული ლიგა - lit. National League) is the top division of professional football in Georgia. Since 1990, it has been organized by the Professional Football League of Georgia and Georgian Football Federation. From 1927 to 1989, the competition was held as a regional tournament within the Soviet Union. From 2017 the Erovnuli Liga switched to a spring-autumn system, with only 10 clubs in the top flight. Boris Paichadze Dinamo Arena ( ''Boris P’aich’adzis erovnuli st’adioni''), formerly known as Boris Paichadze National Stadium, is a stadium in Tbilisi, Georgia, and the home stadium of Dinamo Tbilisi, Georgia national rugby union team and Georgia national football team. FC Ameri Tbilisi
FC Ameri Tbilisi was a Georgian football club based in the district of Gldani in Tbilisi. The club was founded in 2002 and was dissolved in 2009 after a financial troubles. Ameri won promotion for the Second Division after the 2002–03 season. In 2003/04 they finished 12th out of 16 and were to be relegated, but were saved after withdrawal of two teams. 2008–09 Pirveli Liga was the 20th season of the Georgian Pirveli Liga. The Pirveli Liga is the second division of Georgian Football. It consists of 4 reserve teams and professional teams. Although reserve teams was allowed to play in the same league system, they were not be allowed to play in the same division and therefore cannot be promoted. FC Meskheti (''Georgian'': საფეხბურთო კლუბი მესხეთი) is a defunct Georgian football club based in Akhaltsikhe. Most recently the club took part in Regionuli Liga, the fifth tier of Georgian league system, although in the late 2000s they spent two seasons in the top division. Meskheti ceased their activities in early 2021. History Founded in 2005, the club initially participated in Pirveli Liga for the first two years.
