Anfisa Serhiyivna Pochkalova ( uk, Анфіса Сергіївна Почкалова; born 1 March 1990) is a Ukrainian épée fencer. She is the 2009 world individual bronze medalist. Personal life Pochkalova was born 1 March 1990 in Lviv. She is a student at the Lviv State University of Physical Culture. Career Pochkalova learnt fencing in Lviv under Zoriana Savruk, then Andriy Orlykovskyi, who also trained Olympic champion Yana Shemyakina. She won in 2007 a bronze medal at the Cadet European Championships in Novi Sad and a silver medal at the Junior European Championship in Prague. She joined in 2008 the national senior team and took part in her first World championships in Beijing, where Ukraine finished 13th. Sherraine Schalm
Sherraine Schalm, formerly Sherraine Schalm-MacKay (born June 21, 1975), is a former top-ranked Canadian Olympic épée fencer. She is a World Cup medal winner, elementary school teacher and author. She is a graduate of the University of Ottawa. At the 2005 World Fencing Championships she won a bronze medal in the individual épée event, becoming the first Canadian to ever win a World Championships medal in the sport. The next season, in 2005–06, she won the overall World Cup title. Born in Brooks, Alberta, Schalm has earned the best ever results for any Canadian woman fencer at the world championships, the Olympic Games and is a four-time medallist at the Pan American Games. Lyubov Andreyevna Shutova (russian: Любовь Андреевна Шутова; born 25 June 1983) is a Russian fencer, World champion in 2009 and team World champion in 2013 and 2014. Bronze medallist of a team event at 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. Personal life Shutova took up fencing at the age of twelve after being invited to watch a training session at her local club. Elisa Di Francisca (; born 13 December 1982) is an Italian former foil fencer, Olympic champion in 2012, World champion in 2010 and three-time European champion. She won the 2010–11 World Cup series and has seven World Cup victories to her name. With the Italian team, she was Olympic champion in 2012, five-time World champion and seven-time European champion. Jeon Hee-sook (Hangul: 전희숙; or ; born 16 June 1984 in Seoul) is a South Korean foil fencer. Jeon won the bronze medal in the foil team event at the 2006 World Fencing Championships after beating Poland in the bronze medal match. She accomplished this with her team mates Jung Gil-ok, Seo Mi-jung and Nam Hyun-hee. Carole Vergne (born August 7, 1985, in Saint-Malo, Ille-et-Vilaine) is a French sabre fencer. She won two medals, silver and bronze, in the same weapon at the 2009 World Fencing Championships in Antalya, Turkey. Vergne represented France at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, where she competed in two sabre events. For her first event, the women's individual sabre, Vergne received a bye for the preliminary round of thirty-two, before losing out to South Korea's Kim Keum-Hwa, with a sudden death score of 14–15.
