Aida Vladimirovna Shanayeva (russian: Аида Владимировна Шанаева, os, Санаты Владимиры чызг Аидæ; born 23 April 1986) is a Russian foil fencer, team Olympic champion at the 2008 Summer Olympics, World champion at 2009 World Fencing Championships and twice team World champion ( 2006 and 2011). Shanayeva won the gold medal in the foil team event at the 2006 World Fencing Championships The 2006 World Fencing Championships were held at the Oval Lingotto in Turin, Italy. Vladikavkaz (russian: Владикавка́з, , os, Дзæуджыхъæу, translit=Dzæwdžyqæw, ;), formerly known as Ordzhonikidze () and Dzaudzhikau (), is the capital city of the North Ossetia-Alania, Republic of North Ossetia-Alania, Russia. It is located in the southeast of the republic at the foothills of the Caucasus Mountains, situated on the Terek River. The city's population was 311,693 as of the Russian Census (2010), 2010 Census.
