2008 Garuda Indonesia Tennis Masters
{{nofootnotes, date=June 2009 The 2008 Garuda Indonesia Tennis Masters was a tennis tournament held at the Hotel Sultan in Jakarta from 10 December to 14 December 2008. It was the inaugural Garuda Indonesia Tennis Masters. The tournament was restricted to Indonesian entrants. The total prize purse was 500 million rupiah (roughly $40,000US), with 100 million rupiah for the winners of the singles competition. The singles competitions each had eight entrants. The men's doubles competition had eight teams, and the women's doubles competition had four teams. The Indonesian Tennis Association (PELTI) used the Masters to rank Indonesian players, for Fed Cup and Davis Cup selection. The Indonesian Tennis Association is the governing body of tennis in Indonesia. It is known in Indonesian as PELTI (Persatuan Lawn Tennis Indonesia). The Billie Jean King Cup (or the BJK Cup) is the premier international team competition in women's tennis, launched as the Federation Cup in 1963 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the International Tennis Federation (ITF). The name was changed to the Fed Cup in 1995, and changed again in September 2020 in honor of former World No. 1 Billie Jean King. Davis Cup
The Davis Cup is the premier international team event in men's tennis. It is run by the International Tennis Federation (ITF) and is contested annually between teams from competing countries in a knock-out format. It is described by the organisers as the "World Cup of Tennis", and the winners are referred to as the World Champion team. The competition began in 1900 as a challenge between Great Britain and the United States. By 2016, 135 nations entered teams into the competition. Ketut-Nesa Arta (born 16 February 1982), known as Nesa Arta, is an Indonesian former professional tennis player. Arta, a native of Jakarta, competed at satellite/Futures level in tournaments around Asia and was a Davis Cup doubles player for Indonesia from 2008 to 2010. Partnering him in all five Davis Cup rubbers was Christopher Rungkat and the pair registered three wins. Andrian Raturandang
Andrian Raturandang (born 29 July 1976) is an Indonesian former professional tennis player. He was a gold medalist for Indonesia at the 1997 Southeast Asian Games. Raturandang reached a career high singles ranking of 484 while competing on the professional tour, mostly in satellite and Futures events. He made one ATP Tour singles main draw, as a wildcard at the 1996 Indonesia Open, where he was beaten in the first round by Chris Wilkinson. He also featured twice in the doubles main draw of the Indonesia Open. A five-time Southeast Asian Games medalist, Raturandang represented Indonesia in 10 Davis Cup ties, between 1996 and 1998 and then in 2001. Hendri Susilo Pramono
Hendri Susilo Pramono (born 5 July 1979) is an Indonesian former professional tennis player. Born in Surakarta, Pramono reached a career high singles ranking of 657 while competing on the professional tour and was ranked as high as 399 in doubles. He spent his career on the ITF Futures circuit and won three doubles titles. Pramono featured in seven Davis Cup ties for Indonesia, between 1999 and 2004, mostly as a doubles player. A regular Southeast Asian Games competitor, Pramono won six medals for his country in tennis, which included a team gold in 2003. He has also represented Indonesia at the Southeast Asian Games in the sport of soft tennis, winning two medals in 2011. At the 2014 Asian Games he was a member of Indonesia's team in soft tennis. Lavinia Tananta (born 3 November 1987) is an Indonesian former tennis player. She made her debut as a professional in May 2003, aged 15, at an ITF tournament in Jakarta. In December 2008, Tananta won the women's singles in the inaugural Garuda Indonesia Tennis Masters, defeating Ayu-Fani Damayanti in the final. Ayu Fani Damayanti (born 29 November 1988) is a former Indonesian tennis player. She made her debut as a professional in 2003, aged 14, at an ITF tournament in Jakarta. Her greatest success came in doubles competitions, especially with Septi Mende as partner. The pair won five doubles titles on the ITF Women's Circuit, and the silver medal in doubles at the Southeast Asian Games in 2005. Liza Andriyani (born 12 February 1979) is an Indonesian former tennis player. She made her debut as a professional in May 1993, aged 14, at the Indonesia Open, a then-Tier IV WTA Tour event. In 1995 and 1996, she appeared in several Grand Slam Junior Championships. Her best result at that level was reaching the 1995 US Open Junior Championships, where she and Tamarine Tanasugarn reached the semifinals.
