The Indonesian Tennis Association is the governing body of tennis in Indonesia. It is known in Indonesian as PELTI (Persatuan Lawn Tennis Indonesia). Founded on 26 December 1935, PELTI's roles include promotion of the game, providing funding for player development, organising junior and professional tournaments, and administering Indonesia's Billie Jean King Cup and Davis Cup teams. In 2006, the Indonesia Fed Cup team qualified for World Group II, but refused to play Israel and forfeited their play-off match against the Israel Fed Cup team in Tel Aviv, and hence was relegated. The Asian Tennis Federation (ATF) is a non-profit organization affiliated with the International Tennis Federation. It is a continental body of national tennis associations of Asian countries. The ATF's main objectives are to raise the quality standard of Asian tennis and to popularize tennis sport among the peoples of Asia. The International Tennis Federation (ITF) is the governing body of world tennis, wheelchair tennis, and beach tennis. It was founded in 1913 as the International Lawn Tennis Federation by twelve national tennis associations. As of 2016, there are 211 national and six regional associations that make up ITF's membership. The Billie Jean King Cup (or the BJK Cup) is the premier international team competition in women's tennis, launched as the Federation Cup in 1963 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the International Tennis Federation (ITF). The name was changed to the Fed Cup in 1995, and changed again in September 2020 in honor of former World No. 1 Billie Jean King. Davis Cup
The Davis Cup is the premier international team event in men's tennis. It is run by the International Tennis Federation (ITF) and is contested annually between teams from competing countries in a knock-out format. It is described by the organisers as the "World Cup of Tennis", and the winners are referred to as the World Champion team. The competition began in 1900 as a challenge between Great Britain and the United States. By 2016, 135 nations entered teams into the competition. The most successful countries over the history of the tournament are the United States (winning 32 titles and finishing as runners-up 29 times) and Australia (winning 28 titles, including six with New Zealand as Australasia, and finishing as runners-up 19 times). The Indonesia Billie Jean King Cup team represents Indonesia in Billie Jean King Cup tennis competition and are governed by the Indonesian Tennis Association. Francesco Ricci Bitti
Francesco Ricci Bitti (born 15 January 1942) is an Italian sports administrator and former tennis player who has presided over the Association of Summer Olympic International Federations (ASOIF) since 2013. Since 2015 he has been honorary life president of the International Tennis Federation (ITF). Biography Ricci Bitti was born in Faenza, Emilia-Romagna. He studied electrical engineering at the University of Bologna. He has a PhD in Electronic Engineering from Bologna University and an MBA from ISTUD Milan. He was a member of the Italian National Junior Tennis Team (1960), and won the Italian University Tennis Championships (1962, 1964, 1965).
