Andrian Raturandang
Andrian Raturandang (born 29 July 1976) is an Indonesian former professional tennis player. He was a gold medalist for Indonesia at the 1997 Southeast Asian Games. Raturandang reached a career high singles ranking of 484 while competing on the professional tour, mostly in satellite and Futures events. He made one ATP Tour singles main draw, as a wildcard at the 1996 Indonesia Open, where he was beaten in the first round by Chris Wilkinson. He also featured twice in the doubles main draw of the Indonesia Open. A five-time Southeast Asian Games medalist, Raturandang represented Indonesia in 10 Davis Cup ties, between 1996 and 1998 and then in 2001. From his 19 singles rubbers he won only two of them, against Tsai Chia-yen of Chinese Taipei and Sean Karam of Lebanon. The Southeast Asian Games, also known as the SEA Games, is a biennial multi-sport event involving participants from the current 11 countries of Southeast Asia. The games are under the regulation of the Southeast Asian Games Federation with supervision by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA). Sean Karam (born 24 August 1969) is an Australian former professional tennis player of Lebanese descent. Karam, who grew up in Sydney, competed on the satellite tour and debuted for the Lebanon Davis Cup team at the age of 27 in 1997. He played in the Davis Cup until 2002 and now works as a tennis coach in Shanghai. 1997 Southeast Asian Games
The 1997 Southeast Asian Games ( id, Pesta Olahraga Asia Tenggara 1997), officially known as the 19th Southeast Asian Games ( id, Pesta Olahraga Asia Tenggara ke-19; the 19th SEA Games), was a Southeast Asian multi-sport event held in Jakarta, Indonesia. This was the third time that Indonesia hosted the games. Jakarta also hosted the SEA Games in 1979 and 1987. Around 4,696 athletes from 10 participating nations participated at the games, which featured 440 events in 34 sports. The games was held from 11 to 19 October 1997, although several events had commenced from 5 October 1997. The games was opened by Soeharto, the President of Indonesia at the Gelora Bung Karno Stadium, which was then known at the time as Senayan Sports Stadium.
