Eivind Aarset-2006
Eivind is a Norway, Norwegian masculine given name of Old Norse language, Norse origin, ''Auja-winduR''. It is made up of two parts: ''Auja'' meaning "lucky/gift", and ''winduR'' meaning "winner and/or warrior". Trygve Seim
Trygve Seim (born 25 April 1971) is a Norwegian jazz musician (saxophone) and composer. He started to play the saxophone in 1985 after hearing Jan Garbarek's CD ''Eventyr''. Career Seim was born in Oslo. He studied music at Foss videregående skole (1987–90) and attended the Jazz program at the Trondheim Musikkonservatorium (1990–92), where he completed studies in jazz saxophone. Further more Seim studied composition with Terje Bjørklund, Bertil Palmar Johansen, Edward Vesala and Bjørn Kruse. In 1991, he and fellow student, the pianist Christian Wallumrød founded the group Airamero in 1991, including bassist Johannes Eick and drummer Per Oddvar Johansen. The band released the album ''Airamero'' in 1994. It also undertook several concert tours in Scandinavia and Germany. Seim became part of Jon Balke's band Oslo 13 in 1992, and took over the joint leadership of this orchestra in 1994 together with Morten Halle and Torbjørn Sunde. Now the band is called 1300 Os ... Kristiansand
Kristiansand is a seaside resort city and municipality in Agder county, Norway. The city is the fifth-largest and the municipality the sixth-largest in Norway, with a population of around 112,000 as of January 2020, following the incorporation of the municipalities of Søgne and Songdalen into the greater Kristiansand municipality. Punktfestivalen
Punkt International Music Festival or Punktfestivalen has been held every year in Kristiansand, Norway since 2005. Biography Punktfestivalen was established by the musicians Jan Bang and Erik Honoré. They have collaborated from 1980, with the specialty of Bang's live sampling and programming and Honoré's abilities as musician, producer and author. The main objective of the festival is to present experimental music from all over the world and provide innovative musicians an opportunity to share common experiences. Punktfestival in 2008 included musicians like Gavin Bryars, J. Peter Schwalm, Nik Bärtsch and Jon Hassell. David Sylvian visited the 2013 version of the Punktfestival. In 2014 Laurie Anderson appeared. Oslo Jazzfestival
Oslo International Jazz Festival (Oslo Jazzfestival, established 1986 in Norway) is a Norwegian music event, held in August, with a focus on music form the jazz genre, performed on stages in Oslo. History The pilot project (1984–1985) was initiated by Aage Teigen. The first festival in 1986, had more than forty volunteers and the event received 350 000 Norwegian kroner in donations from Oslo Municipality. The music was largely traditional jazz, Dixieland, New Orleans jazz, etc. The organization became a Foundation in 1995, led by Truls Helweg, chairman of the board since 1995) and permanently appointed General Manager (Aage Teigen), at a time when the budget was over 5 million Norwegian kroner. Teigen was in 2002 awarded Oslo City Artist Award for his commitment. In 2006, the festival held 70 concerts (of these 15 free) with 450 musicians on 18 stages with around 70,000 spectators. Haugesund () is a municipality on the North Sea in Rogaland county, Norway. While the population is greater in the neighboring Karmøy municipality, the main commercial and economic centre of the Haugaland region in northern Rogaland and southern Vestland is in Haugesund. Sildajazz
Sildajazz is a jazz festival, which is held annually on the second weekend of August, in Haugesund, Norway. The inaugural festival was in 1987. Both domestic and international artists participate at the festival and each year an award Sildjazzprisen is given to a Norwegian jazz musician or band. The festival is named after the Norwegian word for herring (sild). The reason for this can be found in the rich fishing heritage of past days, and the influence that fishing had on the creation of the city of Haugesund itself. Molde
Molde () is a town and municipality in Møre og Romsdal county, Norway. It is located in the traditional district of Romsdal. It is located on the Romsdal Peninsula, surrounding the Fannefjord and Moldefjord. Moldejazz
Molde International Jazz Festival (MIJF) or Moldejazz (established 1961 in Molde) takes place annually in July, and is known as one of the oldest jazz festivals in Europe. It was initiated by the local Storyville Jazz Club. Since 1964 it has received government support, and the government Buddy Award was for several years awarded at this festival. To the extent Molde festival operates with records, is probably the bassist Bjørn Kjellemyr holder of "Most festivals in a row" musicians record. In 2015 he visits Moldejazz for the 17th time in row as performer. Two club gigs with Dag Arnesen's band is on the program for the versatile bassist. Oslo
Oslo ( , , or ; sma, Oslove) is the capital and most populous city of Norway. It constitutes both a county and a municipality. Norwegian Wood (music Festival)
Norwegian Wood is an annual music festival in Oslo, Norway, held in Frognerbadet. The name of the festival refers to the Beatles song "Norwegian Wood (This Bird Has Flown)". Biography Norwegian Wood was initiated in 1992 by Jørgen Roll, Sten Fredriksen and Haakon Hartvedt, of which the first two are still on board the ship. The first two festivals were held on Bærums Verk in Bærum, but the festival was moved to Frognerbadet in 1994.
