2005–06 National Football Championship (Bangladesh)
The 2005-06 Shere Bangla National Football Championship was the 5th season of the annual domestic national club football tournament hosted by the Bangladesh Football Federation. A total of 52 participants including 5 services teams across the country competed for the tournament. Dhaka Mohammedan is the current champions. National Football Championship (Bangladesh)
The National Football Championship is a semi-professional association football tournament in Bangladesh, contested by districts and government institutions of the country. During the seasons ranging from 2000 to 2006, the wide-open national cup tournament was played by club champions from different districts (Chittagong, Rajshahi, Barishal and Syhlet) along with the top three teams of each season from the country's top division at the time, the Dhaka Premier Division League (Dhaka League). In 2006, the championship was folded, as the Dhaka Premier Division League was replaced by the country's first professional top-tier national league, the Bangladesh Premier League. Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited Dhaka, founded in 1936 at Dhaka, is one of the oldest and one of the most popular football clubs in Bangladesh, with a support base in all parts of the country. The club currently plays in the Bangladesh Premier League. History The clubs journey began in Hazaribagh. Members of the famed Nawab family of Dhaka wanted to establish a local club for the youth. As a result, Muslim Sports Club came into being in 1927. Nine years later, with Khwaja M. 2020 Bangabandhu National Football Championship
The 2020 Bangabandhu National Football Championship, also known as 2020 Walton National Football Championship (due to sponsorship reason from Walton Group), is the 24th edition of the National Football Championship, the premier competition in Bangladesh for teams representing districts and government institutions. It is organized and hosted by the Bangladesh Football Federation. A total of 78 participants nation-wide will participate in the tournament. The format of the tournament changed in this edition as it is no more a top division league and resuming after 13 years. Brothers Union is a football club based in Gopibag, Dhaka. The club was founded in 1949 and the regal business tycoon Kazi Ghiyasuddin Ahmed, better known as K. G. Ahmed served as the founder chairman of the club. At the beginning it was a well-known cultural organization. In 1973, the club started their football activities. They played 3rd Division Football League in 1973 and in 1974 and were promoted to 2nd Division in 1975. Muktijoddha Sangsad KC ( bn, মুক্তিযোদ্ধা সংসদ ক্রীড়া চক্র) is a Bangladeshi professional football club based in Dhaka, Bangladesh. The club is nicknamed The Freedom Fighters. It competes in the country's premier competition, Bangladesh Premier League. History Early Years Founded in 1981, by the Muktijoddha Sangsad welfare association, in remembrance of the Freedom Fighters that died in Bangladesh during the 1971 Liberation War.
