1989–90 Iraq FA Cup
The 1989–90 Iraq FA Cup was the 13th edition of the Iraq FA Cup as a clubs-only competition. The tournament was won by Al-Zawraa for the sixth time, beating Al-Shabab 2–1 on penalties in the final after a 0–0 draw. The first three rounds were between teams from the lower divisions, before the top-flight clubs began to enter at the round of 32. Iraq FA Cup
The Iraq FA Cup, known as the Iraq Cup ( ar, كأس العراق) in Arabic, is an annual knockout football competition in men's domestic Iraqi football. First held in the 1948–49 season for clubs and institutions before returning in 1975–76 for clubs only, it is organised by the Iraq Football Association. The tournament begins with several rounds played between lower division clubs, twelve of which advance to the Round of 32, where the Iraqi Premier League clubs are entered. This is followed by the Round of 16, the quarter-finals, the semi-finals and the final which is played as a single leg in Baghdad. The winners of the competition are awarded a place in the next season's AFC Cup group stage as well as qualifying for the Iraqi Super Cup where they play against the league champions at the start of the following season (or the league runners-up, if the cup winners have won the double). Al-Falluja Sport Club ( ar, نادي الفلوجة الرياضي), is an Iraqi football team based in Fallujah, Al-Anbar, that plays in Iraqi Second Division League. Stadium The Al-Fallujah Stadium was rehabilitated in 2013 by the Ministry of Youth and Sports, and after this year, ISIS took control of the Al-Fallujah Stadium when it occupied the Al Anbar Governorate. In June 2016, the Iraqi Armed Forces managed to liberate the Fallujah areas, including the stadium. Al-Qasim Sport Club ( ar, نادي القاسم الرياضي) is an Iraqi football team based in Al-Qasim City, Babil, that plays in Iraqi Premier League. History Al-Qasim Club was founded in 1973 by a group of young athletes. The team have been in the Iraq Division One for many years and have not been able to qualify for the Premier League due to lack of financial support and lack of a good stadium. Babil Sport Club ( ar, نادي بابل الرياضي), is an Iraqi football club based in Babil, that plays in Iraq Division One. History Babil Sport Club was founded in 1960. The team has played in the Iraqi Premier League since the start of the tournament in 1974, and They had played for four seasons, and in all of them it had been struggling to stay away from relegation.
