1998 Espirito Santo Trophy
The 1998 Espirito Santo Trophy took place 12–15 November at Prince of Wales Country Club in Santiago, Chile. It was the 18th women's golf World Amateur Team Championship for the Espirito Santo Trophy. The tournament was a 72-hole stroke play team event. There were 33 team entries, each with three players. The best two scores for each round counted towards the team total. The United States team won the Trophy for their 13th title, beating team Italy and team Germany by 21 strokes, the widest margin of victory in the history of the championship. Italy and Germany shared the silver medal on second place. The individual title went to Jenny Chuasiriporn, United States, whose score of 12-under-par, 276, was seven strokes ahead of her teammate Kellee Booth. Marine Monnet-Melocco (born 1978) is a French professional golfer who played on the Ladies European Tour and LPGA Tour. She won The Womens Amateur in 1999 and finished third on the LET Order of Merit in 2000. Amateur career Monnet won the 1996 Girls Amateur Championship, the 1999 European Ladies' Team Championship for France, and the 1999 Vagliano Trophy representing the Continent of Europe. Marie Eva Camilla Hedberg (born 24 February 1977) is a retired Swedish professional golfer. She was part of the Swedish teams winning the 1995 European Girls' Team Championship and the 1997 European Ladies' Team Championship and she has played on the Ladies European Tour. Maria Bodén
Maria Bodén (born 3 January 1978) is a Swedish professional golfer who played on the Ladies European Tour between 2002 and 2010. She won the 2005 South African Women's Open and was runner-up at the 2008 Ladies Scottish Open. Grace Park (born 6 March 1979) is a retired South Korean professional golfer on the LPGA Tour. She was a member of the LPGA Tour from 2000 until her retirement in 2012 and won six LPGA Tour events, including one major championship, during her career. Jeong Jang ( ko, 장정, born 11 June 1980) is a South Korean professional golfer who played on the U.S.-based LPGA Tour. She was also a member of the LPGA of Korea Tour. Jang was born in Daejeon, South Korea. She started playing golf at the age of thirteen. As a teenager she won the 1997 Korea Women's Open and the 1998 Korea Women's Amateur. Jennifer Rosales (born September 17, 1978) is a professional golfer from the Philippines, currently playing on the U.S.-based LPGA Tour. Amateur career Born in Manila, Rosales won the Philippine Ladies Amateur Golf Championship five times in a row from 1994 to 1998. She attended the University of Southern California in Los Angeles and won the 1998 NCAA Championship as a freshman in 1998. Dorothy Delasin (born August 26, 1980) is a Filipino-American professional golfer on the LPGA Tour. Delasin was born in Lubbock, Texas. Celeste Troche
Celeste Troche (pronounced "say-LESS-tay TROH-shay") (born 13 February 1981) is a Paraguayan professional golfer. Troche was born in Asunción. She attended Auburn University in the United States, and was a two time All-American. She was the co-medalist at the 2001 U.S. Women's Amateur. Troche turned professional in 2003 and has played on the LPGA Tour since then, but has struggled to hold on to full LPGA Tour status so she has had to spend time on the Futures Tour. Suzann Pettersen (born 7 April 1981) is a retired Norwegian professional golfer. She played mainly on the U.S.-based LPGA Tour, and was also a member of the Ladies European Tour.
