Marie Hedberg
Marie Eva Camilla Hedberg (born 24 February 1977) is a retired Swedish professional golfer. She was part of the Swedish teams winning the 1995 European Girls' Team Championship and the 1997 European Ladies' Team Championship and she has played on the Ladies European Tour. Amateur career Hedberg was selected for the National Team and won the 1995 European Girls' Team Championship and the 1997 European Ladies' Team Championship. In 1998, her team earned bronze at the European Lady Junior's Team Championship and finished fifth at the Espirito Santo Trophy in Santiago, Chile. She won the 1997 Vagliano Trophy representing the Continent of Europe. Hedberg attended San Jose State University and won the 1997 Western Athletic Conference Championship. She played on the Swedish Golf Tour and won the Toyota Ladies Open and the Adapt Ladies Open as an amateur in 1998. Växjö
Växjö ( ) is a city and the seat of Växjö Municipality, Kronoberg County, Sweden. It had 70,489 inhabitants (2019) out of a municipal population of 95,995 (2021). South African Women's Masters
The South African Women's Masters is a golf tournament in South Africa. First played in 1996 it is the second oldest professional women's golf tournament in South Africa, after the South African Women's Open founded in 1988. The inaugural event was won by South Africa's Sally Little, a two-time LPGA major winner. The tournament was included on the Ladies European Tour in 2001 and played at Gary Player Country Club in Sun City. It is sanctioned by the WPGA and supported by Women's Golf South Africa (the governing body for amateur golf), and is played as part of the Sunshine Ladies Tour. 1998 Espirito Santo Trophy
The 1998 Espirito Santo Trophy took place 12–15 November at Prince of Wales Country Club in Santiago, Chile. It was the 18th women's golf World Amateur Team Championship for the Espirito Santo Trophy. The tournament was a 72-hole stroke play team event. There were 33 team entries, each with three players. The best two scores for each round counted towards the team total. The United States team won the Trophy for their 13th title, beating team Italy and team Germany by 21 strokes, the widest margin of victory in the history of the championship. Italy and Germany shared the silver medal on second place. The individual title went to Jenny Chuasiriporn, United States, whose score of 12-under-par, 276, was seven strokes ahead of her teammate Kellee Booth. 1997 European Ladies' Team Championship
The 1997 European Ladies' Team Championship took place 9–13 July at Nordcenter Golf & Country Club in Åminnefors, Finland. It was the 20th women's golf amateur European Ladies' Team Championship. Venue The hosting club was founded in 1988. Its first course, the Fream course, situated in Åminnefors, close to Pohja in the province of Southern Finland and part of the Uusimaa region, 70 kilometres west of Helsinki, Finland, was designed by architect Ronald Fream. The course meanders across a varied landscape from a lush seashore towards a forest plateau full of steep elevation changes and the old park area of a manor house. A second 18-hole-course, the Benz course, located on a forest plateau, was designed by Bradford Benz and inaugurated in 1993. The championship course was set up with par 72. Nina Karlsson
Nina Karlsson (born 16 November 1975) is a retired Swedish professional golfer. She won the Swedish Golf Tour (SGT) Order of Merit in 1997 and 1998, and played on the Ladies European Tour (LET) ten seasons 1998–2007. Amateur career Karlsson won the 1993 Norwegian Ladies Open Amateur Championship and represented Sweden at the 1994 European Girls' Team Championship at Club de Campo in Malaga, Spain, where her team finished fifth. Professional career Karlsson turned professional in 1995 and joined the Swedish Golf Tour (SGT) where she recorded five career wins, including winning the Körunda Ladies Open twice. She reached the final in SM Match three years running 1995–1997 but lost to Mia Löjdahl, Anna Berg and Catrin Nilsmark, respectively.
