1988 Espirito Santo Trophy
The 1988 Espirito Santo Trophy took place 8–11 September at Drottningholm Golf Club in Stockholm, Sweden. The club was later renamed the Royal Drottningholm Golf Club, named from the palace close to the course, the Drottningholm Palace, home of the Swedish king and queen. The course, laid out on crown property, opened in 1959 in a park and woodland area about 15 kilometres (9 miles) from midtown Stockholm. For this championship, the course was set up as the women's championship course with par 73. It was the 13th women's golf World Amateur Team Championship for the Espirito Santo Trophy. The tournament was a 72-hole stroke play team event with 27 team entries, each with three players. The best two scores for each round counted towards the team total. The United States team won the Trophy, earning the title for the tenth time, beating the hosting country team Sweden by one stroke. 1968 Espirito Santo Trophy
The 1968 Espirito Santo Trophy took place 2–5 October at Victoria Golf Club in Cheltenham, south of central Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. It was the third women's golf World Amateur Team Championship for the Espirito Santo Trophy. The tournament was a 72-hole stroke play team event with 17 three-woman teams. The best two scores for each round counted towards the team total. The United States won the Trophy, beating the host nation Australia by five strokes. Australia took the silver medal while France, one stroke further behind, took the bronze, just as they did in the last championship two years earlier. Teams 17 teams contested the event. Helene Andersson
Heléne Elisabeth Koch (née Andersson) (born 9 May 1967) is a Swedish professional golfer. She played on the Ladies European Tour and was runner-up at the 1996 Costa Azul Ladies Open. Amateur career Koch was a member of the winning Swedish team at the European Ladies' Team Championship at Turnberry in 1987, together with Helen Alfredsson, Eva Dahllöf, Pia Nilsson, Sofia Grönberg, Malin Landehag and Margareta Bjurö. She teamed up with Helen Alfredsson and Eva Dahllöf again for the 1988 Espirito Santo Trophy, held at Drottningholm in Stockholm, where they finished second after the United States, the best Swedish finish to date. Helen Alfredsson
Helen Christine Alfredsson (born 9 April 1965) is a Swedish professional golfer who played primarily on the U.S.-based LPGA Tour and is also a life member of the Ladies European Tour. She won the LPGA major Nabisco Dinah Shore and twice finished second in the U.S. Women's Open. She also won the Women's British Open once and the Evian Masters three times before those events were designated as majors in women's golf by the LPGA Tour. In 2019, she won a "senior slam" by winning both of the senior women's major championships. Macarena Campomanes (born c. 1964) is a Spanish amateur golfer. She won the Espirito Santo Trophy in 1986 and 1992, and won the European Senior Ladies' Championship in 2016, 2018 and 2019. Career Campomanes was born in Madrid and grew up on a golf course owned by her father. She had a successful amateur career and won the 1984 Portuguese Ladies Amateur and the 1993 French Ladies Amateur, but never had any plans of turning pro, instead she got married and wanted to raise her three children. Stefania Croce (born 17 May 1970) is an Italian professional golfer, who plays on the Ladies European Tour (LET), and is a former member of the LPGA Tour. Croce qualified for the LPGA Tour on her second attempt in doing so in 1993. Croce won one tournament on the LET, which the win came at the 1992 Ford Ladies' Classic. Julie Pauline Hall ( Wade, later Otto, born 10 March 1967) is an English golfer. She won the Ladies' British Open Amateur Championship twice, in 1990 and 1995, and the English Women's Amateur Championship three times. She played in five Curtis Cup matches from 1988 to 1996. She turned professional in 2011 to follow a career in golf tuition. Linda Louise Denison-Pender Bayman (born 10 June 1948) is an English golfer. Personal life Bayman was born Linda Louise Denison-Pender to Louise (née Riviere) and Richard Ernest Denison-Pender in 1948. She married John Edward Bayman in 1973 and thereafter competed under her married name, Bayman. Following her marriage she played relatively little top-level golf until 1982. Delphine Bourson-Drossaert (born 26 April 1969) is a French golfer. She won the European Ladies Amateur in 1991. Amateur career Bourson won the 1990 Spanish International Ladies Amateur Championship at El Bosque. At the European Ladies Amateur, Bourson lost a playoff to Florence Descampe of Belgium in 1988, and won the event in 1991, three strokes ahead of Mette Hageman of the Netherlands.
