1925–26 In Belgian Football
The 1925–26 season was the 26th season of competitive football in Belgium. Beerschot AC won their 4th Division I title, which was also their 3rd consecutive Belgian title. At the end of the season, SC Anderlechtois, CS Verviétois and R Tilleur FC were relegated to the Promotion, while RC de Bruxelles, FC Malinois and CS La Forestoise Royal Cercle Sportif La Forestoise was a Belgian football club from the municipality of Forest, Brussels. Olympisch Stadion (Antwerp)
The Olympisch Stadion () or Kielstadion ) was built as the main stadium for the 1920 Summer Olympics in Antwerp. For those games, it hosted the athletics, equestrian, field hockey, football, gymnastics, modern pentathlon, rugby union, tug of war, weightlifting and korfball (demonstration) events. Following the Olympics it was converted to a football stadium. Its current tenant is K Beerschot VA, a Belgian football club. There are no remnants of the Olympic athletics track. It is possible that Archibald Leitch was involved in the design of the stadium having made several visits prior to the Games. Gérard Devos
Gérard Devos (19 August 1903, Sint-Andries – 5 January 1972, Tielt) was a Belgian football striker. Career Devos started playing football with Cercle Brugge. He made his debut in a 5–1 loss against Standard Liège on 23 October 1921. He played most of his career for the green and black side. He was 7 times the team's top goal scorer, and he also has the 8th most goals in the history of Cercle. Devos won the league title with Cercle in 1927. His last match with Cercle was against Antwerp FC on 3 November 1929. Cercle lost 1–4. Devos ended his career with FC Eeklo, where he would also become manager. Devos appeared 9 times in the colours of Belgium. He was capped for the first time against France on 11 April 1926. Belgium lost 4–3. Devos made one of the three Belgian goals. Michel Vanderbauwhede (19 May 1901, Boezinge - 3 July 1977, Ypres) was a Belgian football player. He was a striker. Vanderbauwhede made his debut at the highest level of Belgian football in 1920. He played with Cercle Brugge in an away win against AA Gent. With Cercle, he also won the league twice (1927, 1930) and the cup once (1927). With his 109 goals in 231 appearances, Vanderbauwhede is the 4th best goal scorer in the history of Cercle Brugge. Michel Vanderbauwhede also played 15 times for Belgium.
