Zaurbek Sidakov
Zaurbek Kazbekovich Sidakov (born 14 March 1996) is a Russian freestyle wrestler, who competes at 74 kilograms. Sidakov is the 2020 Olympic champion in the 74 kg and a three-time World Champion, claiming his titles in 2018 and 2019 and 2023. Sidakov is also a European Games Gold medalist, World Cup champion, three-time Russian National Champion, three-time Ivan Yarygin International champion (four-time finalist, five-time medalist), Military World Champion and U23 European Champion (two-time finalist). Sidakov has supported the Russian invasion of Ukraine by participating in a pro-war rally in Luzhniki Stadium in March 2022. Beslan (; , ''Beslæn'', ) is a town and the administrative center of Pravoberezhny District of the Republic of North Ossetia–Alania, Russia, located about north of the republic's capital Vladikavkaz, close to the border with the Republic of Ingushetia. As of the 2010 Census, its population was 36,728, making it the third largest town in the republic behind Vladikavkaz and Mozdok. It was previously known as ''Tulatovo/Tulatovskoye'' (until 1941) and ''Iriston'' (until 1950). United World Wrestling (UWW) is the international governing body for the sport of Wrestling; its duties include overseeing wrestling at the World Championships and Olympics. World Military Championships
The World Military Championships (WMC) are the world championships of the military sports, regularly organized by the Conseil International du Sport Militaire (CISM), covering 25 sports. History CISM had its roots in World War II, with efforts to bring together members of the allied forces to bridge cultural and language barriers. This took place under the auspices of the Allied Forces Sports Council. By 1947, the Soviet Union and eastern bloc nations had withdrawn from the Council, followed by the United States and United Kingdom. The French armed forces picked up the concept and organised CISM with France, Belgium, Denmark, Luxembourg and the Netherlands as founding members under the motto "Friendship through sport". The European Games is a continental multi-sport event in the Olympic tradition contested by athletes from countries served by national Olympic committees within the European Olympic Committees (EOC), the regional association for such committees. Wrestling World Cup
Wrestling World Cup is an international wrestling competition among teams representing member nations of the United World Wrestling (UWW) the sport's global governing body. The cups have been conducted by FILA (the UWW predecessor) every year since the 1973 tournament. The World Cup began as a dual-meet competition for the top teams on each continent, but now features the top teams in the rankings of the previous year's world championships. Two individual competitions under the same name were held in 1956 and 1958 before establishing the current World Cup competition in 1973. Besides that, the UWW had another competition called the Individual World Cup as a replacement event for the 2020 World Cup Championships. The 2018 World Wrestling Championships were the 15th edition of World Wrestling Championships of combined events and were held from 20 to 28 October in Budapest, Hungary. Russia claimed 10 gold medals, 1 silver medal and 2 bronze medals, its best ever overall result in the post-Soviet era.
