Wanda Reisel
Wanda Daniela Reisel Muller (born in Willemstad, Curaçao, on November 24, 1955) is a Dutch writer. Reisel was awarded the Anna Bijns Prize and her works has been nominated for other awards. Life She is the daughter of Jacques Jacob Hirsch Reisel (1915-1976) and Emma Henny Elisabeth Reisel-Muller (1921-2002). She is Max Reisel's niece. Her Jewish parents had emigrated to Willemstad island in 1948 for fear of the Cold War and returned to Amsterdam in 1960 and she grew up in Amsterdam in an anarcho-liberal doctors' family with six children (father internist, mother nurse). After elementary school (1968-1974) Reisel briefly studied history, and after a year and a half she enrolled in the directing course at the drama school, at Stage Directing at Amsterdamse Hogeschool voor de Kunsten. Willemstad
Willemstad ( ; ; ; ) is the capital city, capital and largest city of Curaçao, an island in the southern Caribbean Sea that is a Countries of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, constituent country of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. Curaçao, officially the Country of Curaçao, is a constituent island country within the Kingdom of the Netherlands, located in the southern Caribbean Sea (specifically the Dutch Caribbean region), about north of Venezuela. Max Reisel
Max Reisel (Amsterdam, April 25, 1913 - Jerusalem, 1989) was a Dutch semiticist (of Jewish descent) and a teacher at the Montessori education, Montessori Lyceum Rotterdam. He strove in the dissemination of knowledge about Judaism in general and Hebrew language in particular. He played an important role in the field of education in the Netherlands. Life M. Reisel was born on April 25, 1913, in Amsterdam. Reisel was the son of Wolf Pinchas Reisel (1881–1943), a well-known chief Hazzan of the Neie Sjoel (New Synagogue in Amsterdam), and Sonja Wigdorowitz (1884–1943). Blue Hour
The blue hour (from French ; ) is the period of twilight (in the morning or evening, around the nautical stage) when the Sun is at a significant depth below the horizon. During this time, the remaining sunlight takes on a mostly blue shade. This shade differs from the colour of the sky on a clear day, which is caused by Rayleigh scattering. The blue hour occurs when the Sun is far enough below the horizon so that the sunlight's blue wavelengths dominate due to the Chappuis absorption caused by ozone. Since the term is colloquial, it lacks an official definition such as dawn, dusk, or the three stages of twilight. Libris Prize
The Libris Literature Award or Libris Prize (Dutch: Libris Literatuur Prijs) is a prize for novels originally written in Dutch. Established in 1993, it is awarded annually since 1994 by Libris, an association of independent Dutch booksellers, and amounts to 50,000 for the winner. It is modeled on the Booker Prize, having a longlist and a selection process which shortlists six books. The author of each shortlisted book receives 2,500. Shortlisted authors are heavily promoted in individual Libris book stores, providing important commercial opportunities for authors and booksellers.
