It was created as "Témiscouata" riding by the ''British North America Act'', 1867. In 1959, it was renamed "Rivière-du-Loup—Témiscouata" and defined to consist of: * the county of Témiscouata; * the county of Rivière-du-Loup (except the parish municipalities of Notre-Dame-du-Portage and Sainte-Françoise and the municipalities of Saint-Jean-de-Dieu and Trois Pistoles) and the city of Rivière-du-Loup. In 1966, it was redivided into the ridings of Kamouraska and Témiscouata. Lac-Témiscouata National Park
Lac-Témiscouata National Park (, ) is a provincial park located in Quebec, Canada south of the Saint Lawrence River, near the border with New Brunswick. It contains Lake Témiscouata, which is "the second-largest lake south of the Saint Lawrence River" within some unspecified area, perhaps within Quebec, with a length of around . Touladi River can also be found within the park's boundaries. This national park, created on November 18, 2009, is divided into two parts, one to the northeast of Lake Témiscouata (157.2 km2, including the Squatec and Saint-Juste sectors) and the other to the southeast (18.1 km2, Dégelis sector). The park's physical and ecological characteristics make it representative of the Monts Notre-Dame natural region (21,720 km2), the only natural region in southern Quebec not yet represented by a national park at the time of its creation. Lake Témiscouata () is a lake in the Témiscouata region of southeastern Quebec, Canada. It is 40 km long, with a total area of 66 km2. The Madawaska River flows from this lake to the Saint John River. The cities of Témiscouata-sur-le-Lac, Dégelis and Saint-Juste-du-Lac are located on this lake. Forestry is a major industry in this area. The Petit Témis Interprovincial Bicycle Path, runs from Rivière-du-Loup, Quebec to Edmundston, New Brunswick, following an abandoned railway line along the lake. Témiscouata-sur-le-Lac (, ) is a municipality in Quebec, Canada, situated in the MRC of Témiscouata in the Bas-Saint-Laurent region. The city was created on May 5, 2010, from the mergers of the city of Cabano and Notre-Dame-du-Lac. The new city was called Cabano–Notre-Dame-du-Lac until November 13, 2010. This region is part of traditional Maliseet territory. History On May 5, 2010, the cities of Cabano and Notre-Dame-du-Lac merged to form the city of Cabano–Notre-Dame-du-Lac, which was later named Témiscouata-sur-le-Lac. The name was approved by more than 60% of the population during a referendum on June 20, 2010, and approved by the Minister of Municipal Affairs.
