Témiscouata (provincial Electoral District)
Témiscouata () was a provincial electoral district in the Bas-Saint-Laurent region of Quebec, Canada. It was created for the 1867 election (and an electoral district of that name existed earlier in the Legislative Assembly of the Province of Canada). Its final election was in 1970. It disappeared in the 1973 election and its successor electoral district was Kamouraska-Témiscouata. Bas-Saint-Laurent
The Bas-Saint-Laurent (, 'Lower Saint-Lawrence) is an administrative region of Quebec located along the south shore of the lower Saint Lawrence River in Quebec. The river widens at this place, later becoming a bay that discharges into the Atlantic Ocean and is often nicknamed ''"Bas-du-Fleuve"'' (Lower-River). Félix-Alonzo Talbot (January 9, 1860 – December 13, 1915) was a Canadian politician. The Union nationale () was a conservatism, conservative and Nationalism, nationalist provincial political party in Quebec, Canada, that identified with Autonomism in Quebec, Québécois autonomism. Louis-Eugène-Aduire Parrot (November 11, 1871 – November 18, 1948) was a Canadian physician and politician. Born in Sainte-Emmélie, near Lotbinière, Quebec, Parrot studied at the Séminaire de Québec and the Université Laval. He became a physician in 1897 and practised general medicine in Deschaillons from 1897 to 1905. He did a surgery internship in Paris in 1905 and 1906. Returning to Quebec, he was a physician and surgeon in Fraserville (Rivière-du-Loup) from 1907 to 1939. Parrot was elected to the Legislative Assembly of Quebec for Témiscouata in 1916. A Liberal, he was acclaimed in 1919. He resigned in 1921. He was defeated as the Liberal candidate for the House of Commons of Canada in a 1924 by-election in Témiscouata losing to Jean-François Pouliot.
