Serra Do Aracá State Park
The Serra do Aracá State Park () is a state park in the state of Amazonas, Brazil. Location The Serra do Aracá State Park is in the municipality of Barcelos in the state of Amazonas. The base of the Serra do Aracá, a sandstone tepui after which the park is named, is from the municipal seat on the south (right) shore of the Rio Negro. It can be reached from there by boat along the Cuieiras River. It may also be reached by chartered float plane. From the base to the top of the serra is a 4–5 day journey on foot, or a short helicopter ride. The park has an area of . The park overlaps with the Amazonas National Forest, which includes large areas of the park and extends to the west and east of the park. It is also mostly within the Yanomami Indigenous Territory. Barcelos, Amazonas
Barcelos (also Barcellos), formerly Mariuá, is a municipality located in the state of Amazonas, northern Brazil. Its population was 27,638 (2020) and its area is . It is the second largest municipality in Brazil (behind Altamira, Pará); equivalent in size to New York state in the United States and slightly larger than North Korea. Amazonino Mendes
Amazonino Armando Mendes (16 November 1939 – 12 February 2023) was a Brazilian politician. He had served as the Governor of the Brazilian state of Amazonas for three non-consecutive tenures. Mendes was born in Eirunepé, Amazonas. He first served as governor from 1987 until 2 April 1990, when he resigned from office to run for the Federal Senate. He was elected governor in 1995, serving from 1995 until 2003. In 2017, Mendes was elected Governor of Amazonas succeeding David Almeida, who assumed office as interim governor following the Superior Electoral Court impeachment of former Governor José Melo and former Vice Governor Henrique Oliveira. As a result, the president of the Legislative Assembly of Amazonas State assumed office until the elections were held on the 6 and 27 August. The ''campo rupestre'' ("rupestrian grassland") is a discontinuous montane subtropical ecoregion occurring across three different biomes in Brazil: Cerrado, Atlantic Forest and Caatinga. Originally, ''campo rupestre'' was used to characterize the montane vegetation of the Espinhaço Range, but recently this term has been broadly applied by the scientific community to define high altitudinal fire-prone areas dominated by grasslands and rocky outcrops. Campinarana
Campinarana (NT0158, ), also called Rio Negro Campinarana, is a neotropical ecoregion in the Amazon biome of the north west of Brazil, southern Venezuela, and the east of Colombia that contains vegetation adapted to extremely poor soil. It includes savanna, scrub and forest, and contains many endemic species of fauna and flora. Location Areas of campinarana, which may cover several thousand square kilometres, are found in the transitional region from the Guyana Shield to the Amazon basin. Mount Roraima
Mount Roraima (; ) is the highest of the Pacaraima chain of tepuis (table-top mountain) or plateaux in South America. It is located at the junction of Brazil, Guyana and Venezuela. A characteristic large flat-topped mountain surrounded by cliffs high. Demini River is a river in the Amazon rainforest of the state of Amazonas, Brazil. It is a tributary of the Rio Negro. Course The Demini River rises in the Serra do Aracá State Park, a conservation unit created in 1990. It flows southwest through the park, then flows south to join the Rio Negro.
