Roraima
Roraima ( ) is one of the 26 states of Brazil. Located in the country's North Region, it is the northernmost and most geographically and logistically isolated state in Brazil. It is bordered by the state of Pará to the southeast, Amazonas to the south and west, Venezuela to the north and northwest, and Guyana to the east. The state covers an area of approximately , slightly larger than Belarus, being the fourteenth largest Brazilian state by area. The city of Boa Vista is the capital and largest city in the state, and is the only capital in the country located entirely in the Northern Hemisphere. Antônio Denarium, a member of the conservative Progressistas party, has been the governor of the state since 2019. Roraima is the least populous state in Brazil, with an estimated population of 631,181 inhabitants as of 2020. Boa Vista, Roraima
Boa Vista (, literally ''Good View''; figuratively "Fairview") is the capital of the Brazilian state of Roraima. Situated on the western bank of the Branco River, the city lies 109 km from Brazil's border with Venezuela, and 58 km away from the border with the Guyana. It is the only Brazilian state capital located entirely north of the equator. Boa Vista is the most populous municipality in the state of Roraima; approximately half of the population of the state lives in the city. Commerce mostly occurs with Manaus, the capital of the State of Amazonas. Business also takes place between Boa Vista and with the cities of Lethem, in Guyana and Santa Elena de Uairén, in Venezuela, and Boa Vista has a cultural and commercial brotherhood relationship with the city of Caruaru. Chico Rodrigues
Francisco de Assis Rodrigues (born 23 April 1951) better known as Chico Rodrigues, is a federal senator of Brazil representing the state of Roraima. Although born in Pernambuco, he has spent his political career representing Roraima, and was previously governor from April 2014 to December 2014, vice-governor from 2011 to 2014, and also served in the chamber of deputies from 1991 to 2011. Personal life Rodrigues was born to Sebastião Rodrigues Silva and Eugênia Andrade Silva. He is married to Selma Rodrigues. Rodrigues is an alumnus of the Federal Rural University of Pernambuco. Before becoming a politician he worked as an engineer. Political career Rodrigues served in the federal chamber of deputies for 20 years, from 1991 to 2011. Antonio Denarium
Antonio Oliverio García de Almeida (born 3 March 1964) is a Brazilian politician. He is the governor of the state of Roraima and member of the Progressive Party. Mecias De Jesus
Antonio Mecias Pereira de Jesus (born 8 February 1962) more commonly known as Mecias de Jesus is a federal senator of Brazil representing the state of Roraima. He previously served in the state legislature from 1995 to 2019. Personal life de Jesus was born in Graça Aranha. Prior to becoming a politician, Marcos Rogério worked as a financial adviser. In his youth he also worked as a shoeshine, farmer, waiter and gardener. His son Johnathan de Jesus is also a politician, being elected to the federal chamber of deputies in 2010. Hiran Manuel Gonçalves da Silva (born 5 May 1968) is a Brazilian politician as well as a physician and ophthalmologist. Although born in Amazonas, he has spent his political career representing Roraima, having served as state representative since 2015. Personal life Gonçalves married to Gerlane Baccarin with whom he has one child and he has four other children from a first marriage and he has four grandchildren. Gonçalves is a physician prior to entering politics, and has also worked as an ophthalmologist and is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. The North Region of Brazil ( ) is the largest region of Brazil, accounting for 45.27% of the national territory. It has the second-lowest population of any region in the country, and accounts for a minor percentage of the national GDP.
