SS Barøy (1929)
SS ''Barøy'' was a 424-ton steel-hulled steamship delivered from the ''Trondhjems mekaniske Værksted'' shipyard in Trondheim (city), Trondheim in 1929. She had been ordered by the Norwegian shipping company Ofotens og Vesteraalens Dampskibsselskab, Ofotens Dampskibsselskab for the local route from the port city of Narvik (town), Narvik to the smaller towns of Lødingen (village), Lødingen and Svolvær. After the company suffered ship losses in the 1940 Norwegian Campaign ''Barøy'' was put into Hurtigruten service on the Trondheim–Narvik route. She was sunk with heavy loss of life in a British air attack in the early hours of 13 September 1941. Building and commissioning ''Barøy'' was delivered by ''Trondhjems mekaniske Værksted'' to ''Ofotens Dampskibsselskab'' on 19 August 1929. Lødingen (village)
Lødingen (Norwegian language, Norwegian; ) is the administrative centre of Lødingen Municipality in Nordland county, Norway. The village is located on the southwestern shore of the island of Hinnøya. The village is also located where the southern mouth of the Tjeldsundet strait meets the Vestfjorden. The village has a population (2023) of 1,431 and a population density of . The Norwegian National Road 85 runs through the village and continues on the Bognes–Lødingen ferry route. The village is the business and transportation centre for the municipality. It has the municipal government offices, school, Lødingen Church, as well as Norwegian Telemuseum Lødingen, and Lødingen Maritime Museum. SS ''Nordnorge'' was a Norwegian steamship built in 1923–24 by ''Trondhjems mekaniske Værksted'', for the Narvik-based Norwegian shipping company '' Ofotens Dampskibsselskap''. First employed on the company's Narvik-Trondheim route, she was transferred to the longer Hurtigruten route in late 1936. Seized by the Germans following their April 1940 attack on Norway, she was used as covert troop ship and was sunk shortly after delivering her cargo of German troops behind Allied lines on 10 May 1940. The ship was located in 2021, and was filmed later that year. Construction ''Nordnorge'' was ordered by ''Ofotens Dampskibsselskap'' to serve the company's Narvik-Trondheim route. Skutvika
Skutvika or Skutvik is a small village in Hamarøy Municipality in Nordland county, Norway. The village is situated at the southwestern extreme of the Hamarøya peninsula, about north of the Bodø (town), town of Bodø, southwest of the Narvik (town), town of Narvik, and south of the town of Svolvær. To the west and south of Skutvik is the Økssundet, a Sound (geography), sound connecting the Sagfjorden (Nordland), Sagfjorden and Vestfjorden. Finnmark Fylkesrederi og Ruteselskap AS (FFR), formerly Finmarkens Amtsrederi (FAR), was a road ferry, fast ferry and bus operator owned by Finnmark County Municipality. Skorpa prisoner of war camp () was a facility built by the 6th Division (Norway), Norwegian 6th Division to hold German Prisoner of war, prisoners of war during the 1940 Norwegian Campaign of the World War II, Second World War.
