Randall Rodríguez
Randall Jonas Rodríguez Lucas (born 29 November 2003) is a Uruguayan professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for Argentine Primera División club Vélez Sarsfield. Club career Born in Maldonado, Rodríguez was part of the Peñarol under-20 team which won the 2022 U-20 Copa Libertadores. In the final, he saved two penalties against Independiente del Valle to help his side secure the title. He was also in goal when his team suffered a 1–0 loss in the 2022 Under-20 Intercontinental Cup match against Benfica. In June 2022, Rodríguez renewed his contract with Peñarol until December 2024. On 18 April 2024, he made his official debut for the club in a 3–1 cup defeat to the Montevideo City Torque. On 31 July 2024, Rodríguez came to Argentina to join Vélez Sarsfield. The 2022 Under-20 Intercontinental Cup () was the inaugural edition of the UEFA–CONMEBOL Under-20 Intercontinental Cup, a football match organised by CONMEBOL and UEFA between the winners of the U-20 Copa Libertadores and UEFA Youth League. CONMEBOL was in charge of the main organization of this edition. The Under-20 Intercontinental Cup was officially launched on 2 June 2022 as part of the UEFA–CONMEBOL memorandum of understanding. The CONMEBOL Under-20 Libertadores ( Portuguese and Spanish: CONMEBOL Libertadores Sub 20) is the international association football club competition for teams that play in CONMEBOL leagues. It was created by Manuel Burga Seoane and the Peruvian Football Federation. The competition started in the 2011 season in response to the increased interest in youth football.
