Rahmatganj Muslim Friends Society (Bengali language, Bengali : রহমতগঞ্জ মুসলিম ফ্রেন্ডস সোসাইটি) is a Bangladeshi professional association football, football club based in Old Dhaka. Founded in 1933, the club is currently competing in the Bangladesh Premier League (football), Bangladesh Premier League. It was also a team of Bangladesh Championship League, until gaining promotion in the 2014 Bangladesh Championship League, 2014 season. Haji Tipu Sultan is the current president and Haji Humayun Kabir the general secretary. History Early years (1933–1965) Rahmatganj Muslim Friends Society was founded in January 1933 in Old Dhaka, during the British Raj, British regime. Mohammed Kaikobad (; born 15 July 1946) is a retired Bangladeshi football player and coach. Early career Kaikobad began his football career after completing his matriculation exams in 1961 by joining the junior team of Kazipara Union Club. The following year, he played in the Brahmanbaria First Division Football League with Kazipara's senior team. In 1963, he participated in the Cumilla First Division Football League with Cumilla East Bengal and represented the Cumilla District in the inter-district football championship under the recommendation of Zahirul Haque. Abahani Limited Dhaka (), also referred as Dhaka Abahani or Abahani Limited, is a Bangladeshi professional football club based in the Dhanmondi area of Dhaka, Bangladesh. The club currently competes in the Bangladesh Premier League, the top flight of Bangladeshi football. Zakaria Pintoo
Zakaria Pintoo (; 1 January 1943 – 18 November 2024), alternatively spelled Zakaria Pintu, was a Bangladeshi footballer who played as a defender. He was the first captain of the Bangladesh national team. Pintoo gained fame as the captain of the Shadhin Bangla football team during the Bangladesh Liberation War. Before the country's independence, Pintoo represented both the Pakistan national football team and the East Pakistan football team, captaining the latter on numerous occasions. In club football, Pintoo represented Mohammedan SC, one of the most popular clubs in Bangladesh, for a continuous period of 14 years. Enayetur Rahman
Enayetur Rahman Khan (; born 28 February 1951) is a former Bangladeshi footballer who played as a striker. He holds the record of scoring the Bangladesh national team's first-ever international goal, which came in a 2–2 draw against Thailand during the country's inaugural competitive game in 1973. He scored a total of 90 goals in the First Division during his more than a decade-long career playing domestic football in Dhaka. He was a member of the Shadhin Bangla football team that played exhibition matches across India to raise funds during the Bangladesh Liberation War in 1971. Sharifuzzaman
Sharifuzzaman () is a retired Bangladeshi football player who played as a midfielder. He is a member of the first Bangladesh national football team. Personal life Born in Munshiganj Sardar, East Bengal, Sharifuzzaman family had originally moved from Chandpur due to his father's job as a lawyer. Sharif is the second oldest among seven brothers and two sisters. Five of his brothers were also footballers, among them Nowsheruzzaman and Arifuzzaman played with alongside him at Mohammedan SC in 1975. Nowsheruzzaman
AKM Nowsheruzzaman (; 5 December 1950 – 21 September 2020), better known as Nowsher, was a Bangladeshi footballer who played as a striker or left-winger. In 1971, he toured India with the Shadhin Bangla football team in order to raise international awareness about the Bangladesh Liberation War. After liberation, he was also part of the first ever Bangladesh national football team. In 1973, Nowsher scored the only goal in a friendly match against Singapore, securing Bangladesh their inaugural international football victory. While at club level, his best season was in 1975 for Mohammedan SC, when he became the First Division League top-scorer with 21 goals. Bordoloi Trophy
The Bharat Ratna Lokopriya Gopinath Bordoloi Trophy, commonly known as Bordoloi Trophy, is a premier annual Indian football tournament held in Guwahati and organized by the Guwahati Sports Association (GSA). The tournament was founded in 1952 by Gauhati Town Club. It is named after Assam's first chief minister Gopinath Bordoloi. Jagannath College
Jagannath University (JnU) () is a public university located in Sadarghat, Dhaka, Bangladesh. Founded as ''Dhaka Brahma School'' in 1858 and renamed ''Jagannath School'' in 1872, and later renamed ''Jagannath College'' in 1884, the institution was taken over by the Pakistani government in 1968, while Bangladesh was still a part of Pakistan.
