Ring Road
A ring road (also known as circular road, beltline, beltway, circumferential (high)way, loop or orbital) is a road or a series of connected roads encircling a town, city or country. The most common purpose of a ring road is to assist in reducing traffic volumes in the urban centre, such as by offering an alternate route around the city for drivers who do not need to stop in the city core. Ring roads can also serve to connect suburbs to each other, allowing efficient travel between them. Nomenclature The name "ring road" is used for the majority of metropolitan circumferential routes in Europe, such as the Berliner Ring, the Brussels Ring, the Amsterdam Ring and the Leeds Inner and Outer ring roads. Australia, Pakistan, and India also use the term ring road, as in Melbourne's Western Ring Road, Lahore's Lahore Ring Road and Hyderabad's Outer Ring Road. In Canada the term is the most commonly used, with "orbital" also used, but to a much lesser extent. In Europe and Aust ...

Anillo Periférico
The Anillo Periférico known by locals as ''el periférico'' (Spanish for ''peripheral ring'') is the outer beltway of Mexico City. The ''Periferico'' was originally planned by architect Carlos Contreras as early as 1925, together with other major roads such as the Viaducto Miguel Alemán Viaducto Miguel Alemán is a crosstown freeway, opened in September 1950, that runs east-west across central Mexico City Mexico City is the capital city, capital and List of cities in Mexico, largest city of Mexico, as well as the List of No .... Some parts of the beltway were built to follow the bed of a river; the flow of the river was modified to flow through a pipe. The beltway gained major media attention when the then Mexico City mayor, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, started a project to turn a southern section of the ring into a two-story highway. The second level was finished in 2006 in the Federal District and in the State of Mexico in 2009. From Cuautitlán in the north ...

Anillo Periférico Ecológico
The Anillo Periférico Ecológico is a ring road of the city of Puebla, in Mexico. It is an arm from Mexican Federal Highway 190 (Mexico-Amozoc) that allows to surround a large part of the metropolitan area of Puebla. With an approximate length of 40 km, it forms an arc that is linked to highway 150D (Mexico-Veracruz) by two junctions, respectively at the extreme northwest and east of the urban area, surrounding it to the south. History Anillo Periférico Ecológico was conceived in 1993 as part of the Angelopolis Regional Development Plan. This planned to grow and modernize the city, as well as speed up vehicular flow through a fast track that would connect the Mexico-Veracruz highway with the south from the city, freeing it from passing traffic. In a first phase, the Periférico Ecológico was inaugurated in 1997, during the government of Manuel Bartlett. It initially included the western and southern section, from Highway 150D at the height of San Francisco Ocotlán to Jos ...

Periférico (Mexicable)
Mexicable is an aerial lift line in Ecatepec de Morelos and Tlalnepantla de Baz, in Greater Mexico City, and one station in Mexico City proper. It was created by the Government of the State of Mexico. The first part of this project was inaugurated on October 4, 2016. The line is long and runs between San Andrés de la Cañada (in the Sierra de Guadalupe) and Vía Morelos (in Ecatepec), through five intermediate stations. It reduces traveling times between those points to 17 minutes, down from the hour-long commutes between the same points using ground transportation. The Mexicable operates 184 cars, each with a capacity 10 passengers. The predicted capacity is 3,000 passengers per hour for each line and 29,000 passengers per day, with a fare of 9 pesos . ''The New York Times'' reported in 2016 that the Mexicable has brought some urban renewal to the areas served by stations. Streetlights were installed, roads were paved, and about 50 murals were commissioned along the route ...
