Orlovat
Orlovat (; ) is a village in Serbia. It is situated in the Zrenjanin municipality, in the Central Banat District, Vojvodina province. The village has a Serb ethnic majority (95.52%) and its population numbering 1,789 people (2002 census). Name In Serbian language, Serbian, the village is known as ''Orlovat'' (Орловат), in Hungarian language, Hungarian as ''Orlód'', and in German language, German as ''Orlowat''. Its name derived from Serbian language, Serbian word "orao" ("eagle" in English). In various historical sources name was also written as ''Orlovath'', ''Borlod'', ''Orlod'', etc. History In 1471, Orlovat was recorded as a town. After Ottoman Empire, Ottoman conquest in the 16th century, number of its inhabitants was reduced and it became a village. Uroš Predić
Uroš Predić ( sr-Cyrl, Урош Предић, ; Orlovat, 7 December 1857 – Belgrade, 12 February 1953) was a Serbian Realism (visual arts), Realist painter. Along with Paja Jovanović and Đorđe Krstić, he is considered the most important Serbian painter of realism. Predić is best remembered for his early works, in which he depicted the "real" life of ordinary people. Later, he made a great contribution in church painting and portraits. Predić's opus includes a total of 1658 works. Biography He was born in Orlovat, and attended primary school in Crepaja. After finishing his secondary education in Pančevo (this school was later named after him), he went to Vienna to study at the academy in 1876. He graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna, Academy of Fine Arts of Vienna in 1880. Zrenjanin
Zrenjanin ( sr-Cyrl, Зрењанин, ; ; ; ; ) is a List of cities in Serbia, city and the administrative center of the Central Banat District in the autonomous province of Vojvodina, Serbia. The city urban area has a population of 67,129 inhabitants, while the city administrative area has 105,722 inhabitants (2022 census data). The old name for Zrenjanin is Veliki Bečkerek or ''Nagybecskerek'' as it was known under Austria-Hungary up until 1918. After World War I and the liberation of Veliki Bečkerek the new name of the city was Petrovgrad, in honor of His Majesty Peter I of Serbia, King Peter I the Great Liberator, the King of Serbia and the King of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes. Duško Tošić ( sr-Cyrl, Душко Тошић, ; born 19 January 1985) is a Serbian former professional footballer who played as a defender. He represented Serbia at the 2008 Summer Olympics and 2018 FIFA World Cup.
