Nærøysund Municipality
Nærøysund is a List of municipalities of Norway, municipality in Trøndelag county, Norway. It is located in the Traditional districts of Norway, traditional district of Namdalen. The municipality was established on 1 January 2020 after the merger of the old Vikna Municipality and Nærøy Municipality. The municipality is unique in that it has two equal administrative centres: Kolvereid and Rørvik. The other main population centres of Nærøysund include Abelvær, Foldereid, Gravvika, Ottersøya, Salsbruket, Steine, Trøndelag, Steine, Torstad, Austafjord, Ramstad, Trøndelag, Ramstad, Garstad, and Valøya. The municipality is the 70th largest by area out of the 357 municipalities in Norway. Nærøysund is the 114th most populous municipality in Norway with a population of 9,968. Kolvereid
Kolvereid is a town in Nærøysund Municipality in Trøndelag county, Norway. The town of Kolvereid is located at the west end of the Kolvereidvågen bay, off of the inner part of the Foldafjord. The Norwegian County Road 770 runs through the town, connecting it to the nearby town of Rørvik to the west and to the village of Foldereid to the east. The town was the administrative centre of the old Nærøy Municipality from 1964 until 2020 when it was merged into Nærøysund Municipality. Before that, Kolvereid was the administrative centre of the old Kolvereid Municipality which existed from 1838 until 1964. Nærøy Municipality declared town status for the village of Kolvereid in 2002, making it the smallest town in Norway. The town has a population (2024) of 1,791 and a population density of . Ottersøya
Ottersøya is a village in Nærøysund Municipality in Trøndelag county, Norway. The village is located at the southwestern end of the Kvingra peninsula, just across the Nærøysundet from the town of Rørvik. In Ottersøya there are, among other things, grocery store, post office (Ottersøya has postcode 7940), hairdresser and petrol station. Important workplaces on Ottersøya besides trade and service are ''Nærøysund Kraftbetong A/S'', ''Noprec - Containerservice Ottersøya'' and ''Mekon AS''. In Ottersøya there is a large dry dock owned by ''Moen Slipp''. Nærøysundet school, which is a fully divided primary school plus after-school, is located in Ottersøya. Ramstad, Trøndelag
Ramstad () is a small farming village in Nærøysund Municipality in Trøndelag county, Norway.
