Line 1 (São Paulo Metro)
Line 1 (Blue) () is one of the six lines that make up the São Paulo Metro and one of the thirteen lines that make up the Metropolitan Rail Transportation Network. It was the first line built for the São Paulo Metro and also the first metro line built in Brazil. It links Tucuruvi Station to Jabaquara Station. Construction began in the late 1960s and was completed in the early 1970s. History Originally called North-South Line, line 1 began construction on December 14, 1968. Commercial operation began September 14, 1974, with trains running in the first seven kilometers between Jabaquara and Vila Mariana stations. On this first stretch, the daily service lasted from 10 am to 3 pm. The choice of this route was motivated by the nonexistence of alternatives for collective rail transport for the residents of Santana and Jabaquara, and also to relieve the already complicated traffic in the city's Center. The Consortium that won the bid for the construction of the line was HMD, a ... [...More Info...]       [...Related Items...]     OR:     [Wikipedia]   [Google]   [Baidu]   |

Bilhete Único
Bilhete Único (''Unified Ticket'') is the name of the São Paulo transportation contactless smart card system for fare control. Using Philips Mifare technology, the ticketing system is managed by SPTrans (São Paulo Transporte S/A), the city bus transportation authority, which is controlled by the municipal government. Tickets were first issued using the system on May 18, 2004, when Marta Suplicy was the mayor, allowing for up to four rides in two hours by paying a single fare on buses. From 2006 it has also been used in the local rapid transit system (São Paulo Metro) and on suburban railways operated by CPTM. History The original technical design (in about 1997) was based on Seoul's ticketing solution and provider. But the project was aborted, mostly due software problems with the complex ''Vale-Transporte'' regulation. Around 2001/2002 the project was restarted by SPTrans under the title, ''Projeto de Bilhetagem Eletrônica''. SPSTrans took on the role of Solution I ... São Mateus–Jabaquara Metropolitan Corridor
The São Mateus–Jabaquara metropolitan corridor ( Portuguese: ''Corredor Metropolitano São Mateus-Jabaquara''), also called ABD Corridor (''Corredor ABD'') is a bus rapid transit line in Brazil, linking the city of São Paulo to three neighboring cities, Diadema, São Bernardo do Campo and Santo André, as well as (indirectly) Mauá. Operations started in 1988. Its other name references one letter per city (''A'' for Santo André, ''B'' for São Bernardo do Campo, and ''D'' for Diadema), the same way the ABC region in Greater São Paulo is named. Sâo Mateus and Jabaquara are city districts within São Paulo's jurisdiction, borrowing their names for the bus lane as they were its original termini. Despite its name, no bus lines connect both sites directly; passengers interchange buses at a linking station. The system was rated the most satisfying transportation mode in the Metropolitan Region of São Paulo, with a 79% approval rate, surpassing the long-lasting winning str ...
