Guðmundur Þór Kárason (born 14 June 1974) is an Icelandic puppet designer and puppeteer who is best known for his work on ''LazyTown'', in which he portrayed the character Ziggy. Early life Guðmundur Þór Kárason was born on 14 June 1974 in Reykjavík, Iceland, to director Kári H. Þórsson and visual artist Jenný E. Guðmundsdóttir. Career In 1994, he founded Wit Puppets in Iceland, working on commercials, theater and television programs. Guðmundur's involvement in Wit Puppets ranges from character development, construction and performing some of the puppets himself. In 1998, Kárason joined Lazy Shows, performing and consulting on the show as well as designing visuals for the company. Guðmundur "Gunni" Torfason (born 13 December 1961, in Vestmannaeyjar) is an Icelandic former footballer and manager. Playing career Club A striker, he became top goalscorer in the Icelandic league in 1986 with 19 goals when he was also named the Player of the Year. He moved to continental Europe with Belgian sides Beveren and Winterslag who later merged with Waterschei to become Racing Genk. Guðmundur became the first ever goalscorer of the new club when he scored against KV Mechelen. He then had a spell with Austrians Rapid Vienna, before joining St Mirren in 1989. He became club top scorer three seasons in a row. In 1992 Guðmundur left St Mirren for St Johnstone. In 1995, he moved for a brief spell at Doncaster Rovers. Guðmundur Steinarsson (born 20 October 1979) is an Icelandic international former footballer who played as a striker. Steinarsson is currently assistant manager at Fjölnir. He spent the majority of his playing career with Keflavík, where he started his career in 1996, playing more than 250 league games for the club. Guðmundur Ari Sigurjónsson (born 12 September 1988) is an Icelandic politician and member of the Althing.
