Serangoon
Serangoon ( ) is a planning area and residential town located in the North-East Region of Singapore. Serangoon is bordered by these planning areas – Sengkang to the north, Hougang to the east, Ang Mo Kio and Bishan to the west, as well as Toa Payoh to the south. Serangoon planning area has a total of seven subzones: Serangoon Central, Lorong Chuan, Upper Paya Lebar, Serangoon Garden, Serangoon North, Seletar Hills and Serangoon North Industrial Estate. Transportation The original Serangoon bus interchange was opened on 13 March 1988 along Serangoon Central. It later relocated to nex on 3 September 2011. Rail network A large part of the North East MRT line runs in parallel with this arterial road. Stations that are located along this road are from Little India to Kovan. Serangoon North
Serangoon North Village and Estate is a cluster of HDB apartment flats located north of Serangoon Central separated by Serangoon Gardens to the west and private housing estates to the east with Yio Chu Kang Road connecting the two areas. It is a subzone of the neighbouring area Hougang. It is sandwiched between Ang Mo Kio to the west, Serangoon Gardens to the southwest, and Hougang to the east. Serangoon North has neighbourhood precincts of N1 and N5. Neighbourhood Zone 5 was the latest addition to Serangoon North, which is the current Serangoon North Estate that runs through Serangoon North Avenues 3, 4, 5, and 6. It was built in the period of years 1992 to 1994. The rest (Serangoon North Village), were built before the 1990s. nex (stylised in all lowercase) is a regional shopping mall in Serangoon, within the North-East Region, Singapore, North-East Region of Singapore. Aljunied Group Representation Constituency
The Aljunied Group Representation Constituency is a five-member group representation constituency (GRC) in the north-eastern and eastern region of Singapore. It consists of a large part of Hougang (excluding Hougang SMC), Paya Lebar, Serangoon Gardens, the southern half of Serangoon North as well as a portion of Bedok. The GRC consists of five divisions: Eunos, Bedok Reservoir-Punggol, Kaki Bukit, Serangoon and Paya Lebar. Lorong Chuan MRT Station
Lorong Chuan MRT station is an underground Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) station on the Circle line in Serangoon, Singapore. It is located underneath Serangoon Avenue 3 near the junction of Lorong Chuan, which the station is named after. Constituencies in Singapore are electoral divisions which may be represented by single or multiple seats in the Parliament of Singapore. Constituencies, also called the Divisions, are classified as either Single Member Constituencies (SMCs) or Group Representation Constituencies (GRCs). The Ang Mo Kio Group Representation Constituency is a five-member Group Representation Constituency (GRC) in the North-East Region of Singapore. It has 5 wards: Teck Ghee, Buangkok–Fernvale South, Seletar–Serangoon, Cheng San and Ang Mo Kio–Hougang, managed by Ang Mo Kio Town Council. Kenneth Tiong
Kenneth Tiong Boon Kiat (; born 1988 or 1989) is a Singaporean politician. A member of the Workers' Party, Tiong has been the Member of Parliament (MP) representing the Serangoon division of Aljunied GRC since 2025. Early life Tiong attended Raffles Institution and Raffles Junior College. In 2014, Tiong completed his studies at Brown University and received a Bachelor of Science in Applied Mathematics-Computer Science and Philosophy. Career Tiong worked as a Business Analyst at McKinsey & Co. (2014–2016), followed by a stint at Millennium Management (2016–2018) as a Quant analyst. New Towns Of Singapore
The new towns of Singapore are planned communities located across Singapore that are designed to be self-contained. Designed to house up to 300,000 residents, these new towns contain areas zoned for housing, recreation and employment, and are composed of multiple neighbourhoods, each of which is further subdivided into multiple precincts. Amenities in these new towns are provided through a multi-tiered system, and based on Housing and Development Board (HDB) guidelines. As of 2022, the country has 24 new towns.
