Carl Douglas (1908–1961)
Carl Ludvig Douglas (26 July 1908 – 21 January 1961) was a Swedish diplomat. Douglas began his career at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs in 1933, quickly rising through the ranks. He served in various diplomatic missions, including in Paris, Helsinki, Oslo, Madrid, and Washington, D.C., before becoming a director in 1946. In 1960, he was appointed ambassador to Rio de Janeiro. Tragically, Douglas died in a car accident in Brazil in January 1961, just six months after his father's similar death in Sweden. Early life Douglas was born on 26 July 1908 at Stjärnorp Castle in , Linköping Municipality, Sweden. He was part of the Swedish-German branch of Clan Douglas from the Scottish Lowlands and was the son of Lieutenant General Count Archibald Douglas (1883–1960) and his wife, Astri Henschen (1883–1976). Stockholm Bromma Airport , officially known as Bromma Stockholm Airport, is a regional airport located in the Bromma district of Stockholm, Sweden that primarily serves private aviation. Situated approximately 7 km (4.3 mi) northwest of central Stockholm, Bromma Airport is the closest airport to the city compared to the other commercial airports serving the Stockholm Metropolitan Area (IATA airport code STO) including Arlanda, Skavsta, and Västerås. Libertas Viktoria "Libs" Schulze-Boysen ( Haas-Heye; 20 November 1913 – 22 December 1942) was a German noblewoman and resistance fighter against the Nazis. From the early 1930s to 1940, she attempted to build a literary career, first as a press officer and later as a writer and journalist. Initially sympathetic to the Nazis, she changed her mind after meeting and marrying Luftwaffe officer Harro Schulze-Boysen. As an aristocrat, Schulze-Boysen had contact with many different people in different strata of German society. Starting in 1935, she utilized her position to recruit left-leaning Germans into discussion groups which she hosted at her and Harro's apartment, where they sought to influence their guests. Otto Ludwig Haas-Heye (16 December 1879 – 9 June 1959) was a German fashion designer, professor at the and owner of the publishing company Graphik-Verlag. Haas-Heye headed the fashion department of the Kunstgewerbemuseum in Prinz-Albrecht-Straße 8. He was editor at the ''Graphische Modeblätter''. Biography Otto Ludwig Haas-Heye was born in Heidelberg on 16 December 1879 to Prof. Hermann Haas (1852–1902) and Hermanna Helene Heye (1857–1942).
