Tennis
Tennis is a List of racket sports, racket sport that is played either individually against a single opponent (singles (tennis), singles) or between two teams of two players each (doubles (tennis), doubles). Each player uses a tennis racket strung with a cord to strike a hollow rubber tennis ball, ball covered with felt over or around a net and into the opponent's tennis court, court. The object is to manoeuvre the ball in such a way that the opponent is not able to play a valid return. If a player is unable to return the ball successfully, the opponent scores a Point (tennis), point. 2019 Australian Open – Women's Singles
Naomi Osaka defeated Petra Kvitová in the final, 7–6(7–2), 5–7, 6–4 to win the women's singles tennis title at the 2019 Australian Open. It was her first Australian Open title and second major title overall. With the win, Osaka became the world No. 1, and the first player since Jennifer Capriati to win their first two major titles at consecutive events. Ten players were in contention for the world No. 1 ranking: Kvitová, Osaka, reigning world No. 1 Simona Halep, Sloane Stephens, Karolína Plíšková, Angelique Kerber, Elina Svitolina, Kiki Bertens, Aryna Sabalenka and Daria Kasatkina. Nicolas Mahut
Nicolas Pierre Armand Mahut (; born 21 January 1982) is a French professional tennis player who is a former world No. 1 in doubles. He is a five-time Grand Slam champion in doubles, having completed the career Grand Slam with victories at the 2015 US Open, 2016 Wimbledon Championships, 2018 French Open, and 2019 Australian Open, all partnering Pierre-Hugues Herbert. The pair also won the 2021 French Open and finished runners-up at the 2015 Australian Open, and Mahut was runner-up at the 2013 French Open and 2019 Wimbledon Championships, with Michaël Llodra and Édouard Roger-Vasselin respectively. Pierre-Hugues Herbert (; born 18 March 1991) is a French professional tennis player. 2019 Australian Open – Men's Doubles
Pierre-Hugues Herbert and Nicolas Mahut won the men's doubles tennis title at the 2019 Australian Open, defeating Henri Kontinen and John Peers in the final, 6–4, 7–6(7–1). They are the first French players to achieve the Career Grand Slam as well as only the 8th Men's Doubles pair to achieve this feat. Bianca Vanessa Andreescu (; born June 16, 2000) is a Canadian professional tennis player. She has been WTA rankings, ranked world No. 4 in women's singles by the Women's Tennis Association, WTA. 2019 Wimbledon Championships – Women's Singles
Simona Halep defeated Serena Williams in the final, 6–2, 6–2 to win the ladies' singles tennis title at the 2019 Wimbledon Championships. It was her second and last major title, having won the 2018 French Open. The final lasted only 56 minutes, and Halep committed a major-final record of just three unforced errors.
