Simona Halep (; born 27 September 1991) is a Romanian former professional tennis player. She was ranked as the List of WTA number 1 ranked singles tennis players, world No. 1 in women's singles by the Women's Tennis Association (WTA) for 64 weeks, including as the List of WTA number 1 ranked singles tennis players#Year-end No. 1 players, year-end No. 1 in 2017 WTA Tour, 2017 and 2018 WTA Tour, 2018. Barbora Krejčíková and Kateřina Siniaková defeated Anna Danilina and Beatriz Haddad Maia in the final, 6–7(3–7), 6–4, 6–4 to win the women's doubles tennis title at the 2022 Australian Open.
