The Budapest–Hegyeshalom railway line is a major east–west railway line in Hungary. It runs from Budapest Keleti station, one of the three principal terminals in Budapest, to , near the frontier with Austria. Rajka (, , ) is a village in Győr-Moson-Sopron County, Hungary. The village has large Slovak and German minorities. The Eastern Railway (), formerly also known as the Vienna-Raab railway (), is a two-track, electrified railway line that runs from Vienna towards Hungary. The name ''Eastern Railway'' refers to several branches of the line as well. The previous western terminus of the railway line in Vienna, Wien Südbahnhof, has been replaced by the new Hauptbahnhof, which allows for continuous east-west traffic and connects the Eastern Railway directly to the Western Railway and Southern Railway. Budapest Keleti Station
Budapest Keleti station (, ; "eastern railway station") is the main international and inter-city railway terminal in Budapest, Hungary. The station stands where Rákóczi Avenue splits to become Kerepesi Avenue and Thököly Avenue. Its name in 1891 originates not only from its position as the easternmost of the city's rail termini, but for its original role as a terminus of the lines from eastern Hungary including Transylvania, and the Balkans. In contrast, the Nyugati (western) railway station used to serve lines toward Vienna and Paris. Architecture The building was designed in eclectic style by Gyula Rochlitz and János Feketeházy and constructed between 1881 and 1884. Ferencváros
Ferencváros (, ) is the 9th district of Budapest (), Hungary. Name The southern suburb of Pest was named after King Francis II, Holy Roman Emperor, Francis I on 4 December 1792 when he was crowned king of Hungary. History The development of Ferencváros began in the late 18th century. In both 1799 and 1838, many buildings in Ferencváros were destroyed by flooding of the River Danube.
