Arne B. Mollén (2 May 1913 – 4 July 2000) was a Norwegian sports official. Representing the club IF Vestheim, he was the president of the Norwegian Athletics Association from 1953 to 1955, vice chairman of the Norwegian Olympic Committee from 1965 to 1969 and chairman from 1969 to 1985. Olympic Order
The Olympic Order, established in 1975, is the highest award of the Olympic Movement. It is awarded for particularly distinguished contributions to the Olympic Movement, i.e. recognition of efforts worthy of merit in the cause of sport. Traditionally, the IOC bestows the Olympic Order upon the chief national organiser(s) at the closing ceremony of each respective Olympic Games. History The Olympic Order was established in May 1975 by the International Olympic Committee as a successor to the Olympic Diploma of Merit. The Olympic Order originally had three grades (gold, silver and bronze). In 1984, at the 87th IOC Session in Sarajevo (Yugoslavia), it was decided that in future there would be no distinction between the silver and bronze order. Bjørn Cloumann Benterud (22 January 1901 – 21 March 1985) was a Norwegian businessperson and sports official. Representing the sports club Bestum IF, he was a board member of the Norwegian Athletics Association from 1933 through 1936, then chairman from 1949 through 1952. He was a member of the law committee in 1938, 1940, 1946–1948 and 1953–1966, chairing it from 1946 to 1947 and 1955 to 1966. Jørgen Jahre (29 October 1907 – 24 April 1998) was a Norwegian shipowner and sports official. Jørgen Jahre was born in Tjølling, in Vestfold county, Norway. He was a nephew of Norwegian shipping magnate Anders Jahre. He was secretary of the Norwegian shipping company A/S Kosmos in Sandefjord until in 1939. In 1948 he went from being a manager in Sandar Fabrikker A/S to becoming a partner in Anders Jahre's company. He has been the president of the Norwegian Shipowners' Association. Jan Gulbrandsen
Jan Gulbrandsen (29 May 1938 – 4 September 2007) was a Norwegian hurdler, politician and sports official. His main event was the 400 metres hurdles. He became Norwegian champion in the event from 1957 through 1964, and won a silver medal in 1965. He held the Norwegian record between 1958 and 1960, with 51.5 as the best time, achieved in 1964. His best electronic time was 52.40 seconds. He competed in 400 metres hurdles at the 1960 Summer Olympics in Rome, but was knocked out in the semi-final. At both the 1958 and 1962 European Championships he was knocked out in the heats. In the 110 metres hurdles he became Norwegian champion in 1960, 1961 and 1962 before the rivals Weum/ Fimland started their more-than-decade-long dominance. Gulbrandsen also won national silver medals in 110 metres hurdles in 1957, 1958, 1959, 1963 and 1964. His personal best time was 14.5 seconds, achieved in 1962.
