2025 Australian Open – Mixed Doubles
Olivia Gadecki and John Peers defeated Kimberly Birrell and John-Patrick Smith in the final, 3–6, 6–4, 0–6to win the mixed doubles tennis title at the 2025 Australian Open. It was the first major mixed doubles title for Gadecki, and second for Peers. They saved a match point en route to the title, in the quarterfinals against Zhang Shuai and Rohan Bopanna. Gadecki and Peers became the first all-Australian team to win the title since Jarmila Wolfe and Matthew Ebden in 2013. For the first time in the Open Era, and first time overall since 1967, two all-Australian pairs contested the final. Hsieh Su-wei and Jan Zieliński were the defending champions, but lost in the second round to Irina Khromacheva and Jackson Withrow. Desirae Krawczyk was vying to complete the Career Grand Slam in mixed doubles, but she and her partner Neal Skupski lost in the first round to Tímea Babos and Marcelo Arévalo. Olivia Gadecki
Olivia Gadecki (; born 24 April 2002) is an Australian professional tennis player. She has a career-high singles ranking by the WTA of No. 83, reached on 7 October 2024, and a best doubles ranking of world No. 64, achieved on 22 July 2024. In January 2025, she was the Australian No. 3 both in singles and doubles. Early life Gadecki was born and raised by her mother on the Gold Coast where she started playing tennis at age three. She is of Polish descent, and has five brothers. She was considered a prodigious tennis talent as a junior and at the age of 12 was one of just 16 players from around the world invited to take part in the Longines Future Tennis Aces competition in Paris on the eve of the 2014 French Open. Although several players have won at least one title in each of the four majors to achieve the Career Grand Slam, only three players have won the Grand Slam, all four titles in a single calendar year. Tim Pütz (; born 19 November 1987) is a German professional tennis player who specializes in doubles. He reached his career-high doubles ranking of world No. 6 on 17 February 2025, and has won ten doubles titles on the ATP Tour, including the 2024 ATP Finals with Kevin Krawietz, becoming the first all-German pair to win the title. Pütz won the 2023 French Open in mixed doubles alongside Miyu Kato and was a finalist at the 2024 US Open with Krawietz. He has also reached the semifinals at the 2023 Wimbledon. Hugo Nys (; born 16 February 1991) is a Monégasque professional tennis player who previously represented France until 2019. A doubles specialist, he reached his highest ATP doubles ranking of No. 12 on 12 June 2023 and singles ranking of No. 327 on 29 July 2019. Taylor Townsend (born April 16, 1996) is an American professional tennis player. She has a WTA career-high doubles ranking of world No. 2, achieved on February 24, 2025 and a singles ranking of No. 46, achieved on August 19, 2024. Michael Venus (born 16 October 1987) is a New Zealand professional tennis player. He has a career-high doubles ranking of world No. 6, achieved on 29 August 2022. Erin Hope Routliffe (born 11 April 1995) is a New Zealand professional tennis player who previously represented Canada. She became world No. 1 in doubles on 15 July 2024. Routliffe won a major doubles title at the 2023 US Open partnering Gabriela Dabrowski.
