Ellen Perez
Ellen Perez (born 10 October 1995) is an Australian professional tennis player. Her career-high rankings in singles and doubles are world No. 162 and No. 7, achieved in August 2019 and in April 2024, respectively. She has won eight doubles titles on the WTA Tour, three doubles titles on the WTA 125 tournaments, Challenger Tour, as well as two singles and 19 doubles titles on the ITF Women's World Tennis Tour, ITF Circuit. Perez made her Grand Slam (tennis), major main-draw debut at the 2016 Australian Open in doubles with Belinda Woolcock; they lost in the first round to Jessica Moore (tennis), Jessica Moore and Storm Sanders. 2025 Australian Open – Mixed Doubles
Olivia Gadecki and John Peers defeated Kimberly Birrell and John-Patrick Smith in the final, 3–6, 6–4, 0–6to win the mixed doubles tennis title at the 2025 Australian Open. It was the first major mixed doubles title for Gadecki, and second for Peers. They saved a match point en route to the title, in the quarterfinals against Zhang Shuai and Rohan Bopanna. Gadecki and Peers became the first all-Australian team to win the title since Jarmila Wolfe and Matthew Ebden in 2013. For the first time in the Open Era, and first time overall since 1967, two all-Australian pairs contested the final. The ITF Women's World Tennis Tour, previously known as the ITF Women's Circuit, is a series of professional tennis tournaments run by the International Tennis Federation for female professional tennis players. History It serves as a developmental circuit for the WTA Tour, which is run by the independent Women's Tennis Association (WTA).
